He started for Galatasaray against Man U in Champions League a couple weeks ago, so it doesn't look like the loan has been disappointing from a sporting POV. If Gala is trying to unload him it is either discipline or money problems. NYCFC would have to go high TAM or borderline DP to make this work, unless it were on loan, and then what would be the point?.
Since he left NYC, he's played and (with one exception) been a regular starter at: PSV, Man City, RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim and Galatasaray. It would be terrific to have him, not that I think it would happen.
