Is it Poku who wants to be a holding mid or is it "people" who are trying to turn him into another Toure because he's big strong and African?
Much prefer him in the central CAM role at this point. I don't think he needs to waive that his Lordship Frankie. Whats best for NYC is for Poku to be in the offense.

I would add Mix in place of Jacobsen. He's shown he can run his bollocks off and cover for Pirlo. It means he's closer to his hero and he'll probably develop massively as a player as a result of it. Then that frees up a spot for Poku in an attacking position.

I'm so pumped just thinking about this game! Thankfully there's a full slate of EPzL action to keep me busy until Sunday!

So we first chanted, "We want Pirlo!" And we got Pirlo. Then we chanted, "We want Lampard!" And we got Lampard. How about "We want Pellegrini!" at this game. We could use a better coach.

This makes no sense. Why would Poku ever come on for a defense change? When Poku is on the field it's ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK, POWAR!!!
I'm not saying to have Poku come on as a defensive sub. I'm saying have Poku replace Frank and have arguably our best defensive midfielder (Mix), stay in a more defensive position. Then let the counterattack run rampant.

If Mix comes on at the expense of AJ and actually played DM, I agree this makes sense. The trick is, will Mix stay back?

I just made my case for this in the Mix player thread. AJ on forces off one of: Mix, Poku, TMac. Mix played the DMid role just fine for the USMNT.

Some might like him forward. But I'd rather see him on in a DMid role playing forward to TMac, Poku, Lamp than AJ in the DMid role playing backwards to Pirlo who has two men marking him because the opponent doesn't have to fear AJ.

You play Mix out of position as Pirlo's enforcer then people complain that he's not scoring goals, not getting assists and that he's the world's worst player.

Sorry guys but that lineup is pretty close to ideal. Love Poku but he could sub on 60 or 7oth minute for either Frank or Tmac. Great option to have off the bench.
I'm fine with Poku and Tommy Mac alternating playing 60-75 minutes and then subbing off for the other.

The viewership for this game should be huge. Ignoring the players, we're finally playing in the primetime Sunday spot.

Every match that Mix played defensive for USMNT, was average if not sub par. He played more of an attacking role is his first club match after returning at 3am the night before and got on the score sheet. He need to stay attack minded for us.It keeps him hungry and it shows. All I do know is that we need a W tomorrow or else we are in BIG trouble . . . .
