You don't have boy wonder Harrison or up and coming Lewis who could be fighting for the title of Boy Wonder during this seasonTMac - Villa - Shelton
Mata - Pirlo - Ofori - Allen
Brillant - Chanot - Callens

Maybe Lewis can sit on Harrison's shoulders and they can wear a trench coat and pretend to be one really tall boy wonder. You don't have boy wonder Harrison or up and coming Lewis who could be fighting for the title of Boy Wonder during this season

"Uh, Don? Sami Khedira is ready to come to MLS to play with NYCFC."
"GREAT! Get it done."
"But NYCFC doesn't have an international roster spot for him."
"As of now, each MLS team has an additional roster spot available - call it the 'MLS designated roster spot' or whatever else the branding team comes up with."
"Got it chief!"
I think the huge downside outweighs the benefits. More likely they just increase int'l spots overall without creating a special exception for DPs.I thought about this and I'm thinking that MLS will change the rules so that DPs don't count toward the international spots. The huge downside to this is that it would deter teams from signing big name American players (think Bradley and Jozy) and instead opt for better international talent. MLS is still here to showcase the American soccer player.
Agree. Despite the flack around here, I don't think MLS crafts rules arbitrarily. When they do decide something arguably arbitrarily, it's a pretty sure bet that it's good for the league. If you listen to some of the longer interviews with Garber, you have to like him and his grasp on MLS competitive and business growth.I think the huge downside outweighs the benefits. If we get Ofori or a like caliber of a player, and then a DP, we all of a sudden have one of the most talented starting XIs in MLS. Centerback looking solid this year
How would we be paying all of these contracts? Are they coming over on pennies transfers and taking less money?
We still have $175K in GAM from the Poku deal and an undisclosed about for the Patrick Mullins which is estimated in the $750K range I believe.

Apparently Callens has already signed with us.

Is it me, or weren't these boards just days ago saying that this offseason was a disaster? If we get Ofori or a like caliber of a player, and then a DP, we all of a sudden have one of the most talented starting XIs in MLS.

Nothing has changed yet. We still haven't seen them play together. Is it me, or weren't these boards just days ago saying that this offseason was a disaster?
