The City Football Group has posted a $100 million unrealized gain on its New York City F.C. investment. But total operating losses for CFG's worldwide operation over the last six years now exceed $421 million.

But I want to mention that this $100M UNREALIZED gain makes no difference to NYCFC's finance and operations. CFG would only get this money in the event on a sale of the club. The markup is just based on the latest expansion fees in MLS.

Just as I was sitting back feeling pretty good at the talent on this squad and imagining what it would be…ahem… what it will be like once the CB’s are all healthy and get in sync and the attack gets even better. I believe that this team has the ability to be the absolute best, an absolute beast and absolutely the most entertaining team in MLS. This news sucks and I guess should not be all that surprising.
