I don't think anybody is pretending to know what's going on, but there's a lot of information out in the public realm that allows for fair analysis and criticism.
I'm one of those people that never gave Dome an ounce of respect, until I publicly ate crow on many occasions, but his laying in to MLS and it's arcane rules only to be now reported looking at other offers in MLS is indeed damning. There is no other way to spin that. One doesn't complain about the handcuffs a league places on his ability to perform his job and then entertain taking another position with the same restrictions, unless it wasn't about MLS. We also know that NYCFC has employment NDA's so every comment about MLS could have instead been a veiled comment about NYCFC/CFG - he just happened to snap about the Heber acquisition and say fck-all to the NDA. 4 presidents, 3 coaches, 1 GM in five years is all relevant as they are also all the top people in their respective parts of the org. I believe the head(s) of ticketing/sales has also left. I'm surprised
Christopher Jee hasn't popped in with his Occam's Razor remark.
Your last quip about feeding a narrative is ripe considering your second paragraph listed a bunch of various people who have stayed with the club but aren't at the same level on the tree org chart. Why would David Lee have ever gone anywhere else - he's incredibly young, just 10 years out of college, and he's already held the same position of Performance Analyst at three *powerhouse* clubs: Hartpury, Exeter, and RBNJ before joining NYCFC as Director of player recruitment, which is a pretty damn high role based on his early resume; As Reyna's #2, he was next in line to slide up if Reyna's spot was ever vacant, but going to another club doesn't guarantee that ascension. Ring has commented on the lifestyle of the area to raise his family. Vartughian is from Queens so roots. You're right that this is complex and opaque, but there are many reasons others have stayed that have something/nothing to do with the club, but what we know is that there situations aren't comparable to the current two.
