I went back and checked the International Duty thread. This year, FIFA required that players be released on May 21, and the World Cup began June 14, 24 days later.

For 2022, that would equate to a release date of October 28.

I just looked back at the old lineups -- it looks like the last game they were available for was May 25.

MLS gets one week of relief from the rule to release players on May 21. Maybe everyone will get treated that way in 2022.
