For love and for scarves....

Hi friends,

I am trying desperately to track down a game scarf from the from the March 15, 2015 game against the NE Revs.

My boyfriend attended that game and skimped when it came time to shell out for the scarf. He still lists it as one of his biggest regrets to this day. I'm trying to turn one up as a Christmas gift to earn all of the girlfriend points.

Does anyone have one they're willing to part with? I'd pay more than what's reasonable, I'm sure.

Thank you!

Hmm. That's going to be tough to track down. I bet the front office would be able to help you out if you shoot them an email.

I would give him an empty box, when he asks what it is tell him it could of been the scarf if he was not such a cheap fuck.

They sold out of all those scarves at that first game. I don't think the front office has any they're willing to give out (or sell) as they're keeping any they have for historic purposes.

I'm not selling mine but that being said, how much are you willing to pay for one?

Maybe contact Ruffneck Scarves. I believe they made them. Maybe they can make you another one for a special reason and price.

Yep. I remember standing in line to get one, and it was going to take an hour. Crazy night. Great way to get this whole thing started.

Good luck finding one. Great idea for a gift.

So a real quick search on google and I couldn't find any for sale. So now I feel like I missed a good souvenir opportunity. Not for me personally because I am a minimalist and hate owning crap that clutters my house, but as a future relic to sell. But then I think to myself ok so I got to hold on to this thing for like 60 years before it picks up any serious value. That means i have to be paranoid holding onto this thing, always worrying about flooding or fire or theft. And even if I manage to make it to that point in good shape I will have to compete with whatever survived from the 50 thousand scarves that were made. Its not going to be a very unique item. Everything gets sold today with inflated promises that its going to be a collectors item someday, but things that are collectors items today are rare because no one thought much of them and they ended up in the trash. Sports memorabilia today gets so mass produced and marketed that I'm betting most of it will be worthless in the future.

So that said, I try to think what would this thing sell for in today's dollars if it really was a 60 year old item from the first game ever. $500 (maybe $1000 in mint condition) for a $30 item. And while that does seem awesome, cause I would turn 30 in to 1k as many times as I could, I don't think its worth the 60 years of planning and effort.
