What are the odds he’s not there Sunday? I have to think fairly small.

Agreed. If anything this is his last match. Unlike nice, he’s going to an affiliated club, so they want both clubs to succeed. Especially in the derby.

Didn’t Marsch miss the week of training before our last regular season meeting, because he was attending a coaching class in Europe, and they won that game too? Or was that before our 3-2 win?

I was thinking it was before 2-0 on Jack and CBA goals.

I think that was our 2-0 in Jersey, but I am not 100% sure.

So that shows:
A: he’s a cocky bastard thinking he can leave and his team will prepare with the same intensity.
B: Armas is no Marsch
C: him being away is good for us - hopefully his negotiations are all face to face and time consuming.

Only qualm I have is with your point A. I’d say he’s a “cocky bastard who is appropriately, expectedly selfish who absolutely knows the team prep won’t be the same.”

Like with PV, I can’t really fault the guy for this one. RBL would easily be the highest global profile gig any MLS manager ever moved into.

Also, he just might take Adams along...and that would be huge. But that might make even me feel sorry for their fans. Surely Houlier (is he still the global guy?) wouldn’t allow that. It would cost them season tickets for sure.

Yeah, I agree with your rewrite. And to further your thought, him not being around and if RB loses, it actually helps his selection process because he can readily point to RB’s success being tied to him. Ie: Marsch raises RBNJ’s competitive ability and he’d do the same for RBL.

This is really a no brainer for Marsch if he is offered the job. Worse case scenario for him is that he just goes back to MLS after the season.

You know what this rivalry reminds me of? Reminds me of Der Klassiker- Bayern wins a majority of the games by like 3-5 goal margins, and Dortmund occasionally here and there gets a result at home. Only we're blue, not yellow. :p

It’s kimd of funny that NYCFC and Red Bull New Jersey went from taller large ego presence managers to guys that are short and pudgy.

A co-worker of mine played for Armas at Aldephi and said he was a huge asshole and she hated playing for him if that helps you channel some Marsch hate into him ;)

doesnt really change much, they have their style and game plan im sure, the only "advantage" is in game decisions like subs and adjustments

i also think their players will come out more motivated to try and impress new coach.

Wow, if Marsch does get RBL, then he just one-upped PV again as RBL is a bigger destination than Nice.
