Home game vs Houston being moved to Hartford, CT

I was just informed this morning by the FO that due to unforeseen circumstances, the home game that was scheduled for 9/23 has been moved away from Yankee Stadium to Pratt & Whitney/Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT. Season ticket holders should receive an e-mail with additional information.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask. This isn't ideal but I choose to look at the positive. .

Rox are the buses ADA accessible?
I am pretty upset about this.

I disagree. You can still have a relationship with the team because the team needs the TR more than the TR needs to support the team. Third rail should be a mouth piece for the fans, not the front office. Call for a boycott of this game. Let the team feel it financially. Let the team know for the stadium search that they will lose is quickly with this shit.

The team is going to feel this financially, very hard, even if 25k somehow show up.

Again due to the Third Rail wanting strong ties to the FO he really shouldn't do this. Honestly the best we can do is sing our hearts out, do some gesture to let the club know we want our voices heard, and get on with our lives.

90 minutes of "Fuck the Yankees" "Fuck de Blasio" "Where's our stadium?" "No more bullshit." "This is not New York."

Sure I get that, but even if we had a new stadium coming, this would still happen until it was built. Life happens.

I'm also a Brooklyn nets STH, and what they did was worse - they relocated two regular season games to Mexico, and instead of issuing refunds, they kept our money and instead gave us "upgrade credit". At least NYCFC does the honorable thing and let's us keep our money.

I met a Nets STH the other day. He said he heard there was a second

I go to enough games that I know like 30 out of the 50 STHs (this is a joke) and they are extremely lucky the team is doing the upgrade credit considering the prices for 39 games and especially considering we're playing at one of the best arenas in the NBA. in the most expensive city in the country.

We've had this conversation before. Anytime that buses are hired, they will be hired with the intent to move the greatest number of people possible per coach. That usually means a 56 passenger bus. I don't think the company that the team has their contract with has ADA vehicles in their fleet at all, let alone at 56 passengers. I will ask the question tomorrow though.

Rox, third rail should take a stand and boycott this match.

We are discussing what to do as a group and we will decide what to do as a group.

I just want to make a distinction here: we want strong ties to our team; not our FO. The FO is our liaison and while we do and should maintain a healthy relationship with them, they are not the goal.

Okay thank you for clearing that up. Also, loved you on that Copa 90 video.

No one goes because brooklyn queens and the island never support the teams. NYCFC should go to Yonkers. Westchester has 3 trainlines and great bus service. Add in Connecticut and you probably have 70 % of the STH.
plenty of 1 and 2 STH in queens and brooklyn but the 3-6 holders are are in westcheter and fairfield

This absolutely sucks -- and the game should be closer than two hours away, but let's be a little rational about this.

Had the Yankees rescheduled game been in July, probably no problem finding a closer stadium to play this game in. But it's September -- NFL and college football stadiums are all in-use. If you're the Rutgers football program, do you really want another team coming in to use your field in the middle of your season? I'm sure the team did its due diligence -- they KNOW how angry their fanbase would be over this. Moving to Hartford is preposterously far away to host a "home" game. They know that. They have to.

It would seem to me they had no other options. No other stadium was (a) large enough and (b) willing to host us. I can understand not wanting to use another MLS stadium, and I'm sure MLS wouldn't let them host in a minor league stadium, there's probably a minimum capacity requirement. That probably rules out St. Johns or Columbia. Being forced to play in Hartford is ridiculous, and it's the worst-case scenario. Let's be honest here -- the FO knows this is a bad situation. They should be doing A LOT more for the fans. Charging $10 for busses is a joke. Tickets should be $10 across the board. Want to apologize to the fans? Take a bath on this game.

Here's my other issue: This Yankees game was scheduled all the way back in June. The Sept. 25th Yankees date has been known for 2 months. Why not play this game during an international break? Why not move the date? They had four months left in the season when they knew Yankee Stadium wasn't an option, and I think that's the most confusing part. Surely they could have found a day to do this game. There weren't a lot of great options here -- maybe the only one would have been during the Gold Cup break -- but surely something could have been figured out.

The front office dropped the ball on this, and they didn't need to.

I have to say this, as much as it pains me, but this makes nycfc look like a joke.

The rest of mls already hates us because we got a free pass into mls without needing a stadium. Now this comes along.

The lack of any stadium plan is continuing to be an albatross around the neck of this club.

CFG also need to understand that once you lose fans, it's hard to get them back.
