Every city council member has, by tradition, veto power over projects like this within their district. So if you live in a district with a plausible location, go ahead. Otherwise you're better off directing your pleas to the mayor.
So if you live in Corona, Flushing, the South Bronx or Long Island City get to writing.
I'm stoked to see our boys play in a stadium that is allegedly better for viewing soccer, amongst fans who love this team so irrationally that they're willing to make the trek.
I'm rationalizing this as a combination of the best things about away days and the best things about home games. A new stadium and environment, but filled with people who are nuts about the club despite this being a pretty massive inconvenience. It's tempting to find people to blame when things don't go our way. But this is a good opportunity for supporters and club to work together to make the best of a shitty situation.

No one should show up. They need a fire lit under their ass when it comes to the stadium search. Reyna's quotes on playing in CT makes it seem like they don't think it's a big deal.
Don't laugh at the guy's optimism. We need as much of it as we can get. Especially after the repeated screw-ups we;ve been subjected to.
After being in this thread all evening I don't think there'd be any significant difference to what's been said if they'd announced we'd be playing a home game in Red Bull Arena. I can't see us on the forum being OK with that. Can you imagine if the Red Bulls had some sort of electrical problem, say, and played a home game in Yankee Stadium? We'd never let them hear the end of it. There's no way we can play a home game in their building.
A bit more than Bally-hoo but not as serious as shenanigans.
Icahn stadium, Fordham, Columbia, any of those would have been better options and all within the 5 boroughs.
