I dont think Maxi had any effect at all on our attendance though and i think hes our most important player. And as much as it sucks at the end of the day its a business and money is gonna come first.

Thats exactly my point, if post Pirlo they sign another Maxi type who I agree drives no attendance on his own the team is essentially saying they believe winning has a greater impact on attendance numbers than star power. I have no idea if they are correct but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I follow what youre saying, and maybe theyre even trying that but I just dont think thats going to be true. I had a friend who doesnt follow the league at all just wednesday go to the game to just to try and see Pirlo. And you have people going just to see Villa. The reason being people follow the players which draws attention to the team and the league.

Winning the cup i believe is only going to be a postive for people who ALREADY follow the league.

To be clear im NOT arguing by the way, i see the point youre trying to make, and you may even be right.

Yeah ideally they find a balance having a star is fun, I hope we always have at least 1 marquee player.
