Josh Saunders [Goalkeeper]

Are you sure? I'm not sure we can safely decide any of Johannsen's excellent qualities.
based on the cosmos match, it was pretty easy to assume. saunders with no pressure fucks up more often than not. im surprised he didnt end up as one of those vines where he misses the ball and lets up a goal...

MANCHESTER CITY
are bringing in New York City keeper Josh Saunders for a month to have a look at him.

Saunders, 34, was one of the success stories of a hard first season for the new MLS outfit, which is owned by City.

He did enough to earn an extended review by Manuel Pellegrini’s club.

The Puerto Rico international could be offered the chance to become a back-up keeper at the Etihad.

And he will benefit from working with Joe Hart while he is over.

They can have him, we'll be fine with Johansen

Is "The Sun" the UK version of the onion?

and number one, was Josh Saunders

This is somewhat disappointing. Saunders no doubt was better then expected but I still say he really isn't a number 1 keeper. However, given the plethora of holes this team has on defense, let's hope by fixing the backline some more, in other words investing money in the backline, our defense will be much improved. No more Wingert, Brovsky, Facey at the CBs. Yes I am putting Facey in there. Yes he showed some positives but overall I think he has a lot to improve at the CB spot.

Four SAVES from EL Gato Saunders been selected to be best of the year, and I can not make up my mind between 3 of them . All have extraordinary merits of their own and the deadline to vote is tomorrow Dec. 19th. 2015. I am thorn between 1, 2 and 4

for #1 its an fantastic save however I feel there was a bit of luck factor as the ball was headed by Agudello, Saunders stops it with his hands and either he is not able to grab it and as ball falls or slips out of his hands either by excellent reflex , he throws himself down to stop the ball from rolling in, into the net area or he was lucky that as he falls down , his body blocks the ball from rolling in? will voting for me, for this is one is more out nostalgia that it was the home opener of our beloved team?

# 2 Love the " Mano a Mano" with Wright-Phillip (actually this one -on -one , should be feet -on- feet rather than hands both the shot by Phillip and Saunders block were done by the foot.

#4 these 2 saves in one is the reason I call him El Gato Saunders , he is like a big cat, agile, bouncing, jumping, sprinting, springing and swatting with his "paws" the ball out of the net!

Wish I could vote for the 3 of them but only one vote. Which?
Below is the description of the four nominees - to see videos to go to NYCFC website. Tried putting them and could not. Any suggestions?

New York City FC goalkeeper Josh Saunders led Major League Soccer in saves for the 2015 season and we want you, our fans, to vote on which save you think was the best of the year.
We have narrowed down the field to four saves.

1.Saunders terrific save in the historic home opener on that helped New York City FC secure the win and record his first clean-sheet for the Club.

2.Saunders stops Bradley Wright-Phillips one-on-one.

3.Saunders quick save on Colorado Rapids’ Gabriel Torres.

4.Saunders made not one, but two crucial saves against the San Jose Earthquakes and helped lead New York City FC to victory.

Voting starts Dec. 18 and ends Dec. 19. The winning save will be announced on NYCFC.com on Dec. 21.

1. A great point blank save. During the home opener and preserved a clean sheet.
2. If Wright Phillips would have passed the ball it would have been a goal. So I'm counting that save to the hubris of wanting to score a hat trick. Down 0-2, not great in terms of the situation.
3. He's had others like this during the season.
4. Great double save. Though he didn't do great with the punch on the first shot, he made a good recovery to save the second.

The polling is already showing a clear win for #2 since it's versus the Red Bulls. And fuck the Red Bulls.

Josh Saunders has hair now? Was the no hair that made him save all the shots? Or was it the no hair that led to the terrible distribution?

Which is better?

Hair or no hair priority number one is saving all the shots and letting in the least amount of goals possible. Poor distribution is very bad but atleast it doesn't DIRECTLY lead to goals. Shave it bald or grow locks of love like Mix, just keep the ball out of the god damn net.

Interesting that Saunders is the second highest selection goalkeeper in MLS Fantasy on 16.5% of teams, behind Outsed (Van) on 26.2%. The 3rd selection is Worra (DC) at 14.9% who is the best, cheapest option at $4 then Steve Clark (Col) at 12.7%.

My guess is most players are picking him as their backup. He's low priced, accumulated decent if unspectacular points last year, and played almost every game. That's exactly what you want for a backup fantasy keeper. OF course if Lurch gets our starting job none of that matters, but they can probably sell Saunders for Lurch and make some money after week 1. Plus, if he is their backup they won't even take a point shit Week 1 when/if he doesn't play. Or maybe they all watched the last 2 minutes of last night's game and figure Saunders has to keep the starting job.
