He won't be coming.
Well, I cant say I had any crystal balls,,, but I had a feeling.
He won't be coming.
Whether Kreis was given the company hymnal is up for debate, but he said the following which contradicts his stance on when players can be integrated:Not exactly.
Kreis and the team made a big deal about the need to avoid mid-season signings in July 2014:
New York City FC avoid midseason signings as Frank Lampard, David Villa join before 2015 season
Kreis was quoted then and there saying “For me, players that enter in the middle of the season are typical fails,” Kreis said. “The chances for those players to really contribute meaningfully in a second half of a season in MLS are very, very small.”
Then after Lampard deferred, Kreis was given the company hymnal and told what to sing in January 2015:

As I've previously stated, I thin Kreis needed to be fired but he also got jerked around by CFG.
Your initial point was:Whether Kreis was given the company hymnal is up for debate, but he said the following which contradicts his stance on when players can be integrated:
“I don’t know that we’ve ever said we expected to have that by the start of the season,” said Kreis. “I think we’ve always been clear that we will have three DPs, but the timing of it has never been exact. I think there is one thing that we have been clear on and we continue to be clear on, that we’re not going to add any player, regular player or Designated Player, because we’re against some timeline." With commentary from SBI: *As far as adding a third Designated Player goes, Kreis said the club still intends to do so but that it might not happen until later in the year.*

And if anybody wants to dispute that Kreis signed on to all of the players on the roster, there's this telling quote:
“I think it makes for a special situation, I really do,” said Kreis. “You can look at this in sort of the negative way and say, ‘What an unbelievably difficult project we have in front of us.’ Because we do, it’s certainly challenging. But I prefer to look at it in a very positive way and say, ‘This is a terrific opportunity to start from scratch.’ Literally every player that will be there on day one of pre-season has been particularly wanted by the staff.”

So in essence, from Day 1 Kreis has been hedging his bets & was speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Taking ownership of the roster and also issuing caveats to its construction.
Then I quoted him in July 2014 saying what you claimed he didn't say until mid-season summer 2015. (BTW, do you have a cite for him saying that in summer 2015?). I also cited to him in Jan 2015 saying what you said after the Lampard extension. I'm not sure why you think quoting a nearly identical January 2015 article refutes me. Your timeline was incomplete. You insist on being offended that his midsummer 2015 statements contradict his Jan 2015 statements, but ignore that his Jan 2015 statements contradict his 2014 statements. You seem to need to believe he never said midsummer transfers are problems until things went bad, but he said so 9 months before the season started.Kreis stated before the season started that he was happy with the roster and didn't need the third DP until he saw how the team performed - he wanted to save the spot and adjust accordingly in the middle of the season. Yet, then in the middle of the season he starts chiming that mid-season players never pan out.

And if you don't think his January statements were made under management pressure, well, fine.
Whatever. I'm done. he's done, and I'm OK with that.. Have the last word if you want.
And as promised I'm letting you have last word with this post. Cheers!Actually no, I think I summed it up quite succinctly at the end of my post, "So in essence, from Day 1 Kreis has been hedging his bets & was speaking out of both sides of his mouth. Sorry if you can't read between the lines, I didn't think it was necessary to post more that 2 items on the timeline since they demonstrated he wanted it both ways (my cited links and yours). I'll try and be more responsible next time so you have an easier time following the timeline - my point though with my cited links was that prior to the season he was happy with the roster and wasn't going to be rushed to get the 3rd DP before the start of the season.
which one is more important in a fight, the first punch or the last word? cheers all for good funAnd as promised I'm letting you have last word with this post. Cheers!
Why would he go out there? He'll get any available job in MLS.Rather than firing him, we should have sent Kreis over to Melbourne City. Can you loan a coach?

Considering the A-League is a step down from MLS, and a place Kreis has never been too before, I doubt he would take such a demotion.Punishment for not playing Poku. He was still under contract before we fired him, we could do what we wanted.
I'd rather have had Frank, Villa and Pirlo all above Xavi.
LOLNot the question. The question is, would you have rather started the season with Villa and Xavi? Or started the season with Villa and added Pirlo in July?
Does a Villa-Xavi partnership get this team in the playoffs? If you were looking for a reason CFG canned Kreis, here's exhibit A.
What the hell did the tweet say?Small bit of news:
Not sure what to make of this. Would Xavi have really been the right piece? Was Kreis wrong or not? Would he have been loaned and kept in Manchester too? Would having 3 DP's from day one helped mitigate Lampard-gate?
Eh, it's whatever. I lean towards agreeing with Kreis that Villa was the only DP target that gets an A from me so far.
What every post here is about, namely Xavi would have joined NYCFC if it wasn't for Kreis. What the hell did the tweet say?
Or Ned..... but I'm just reading between the lines.....What every post here is about, namely Xavi would have joined NYCFC if it wasn't for Kreis.
LOL
Ridiculous.
Absolutely ridiculous.
First of all, he didn't want Pirlo either. They're both exactly the type of player he didn't want and he's 100% right to not want those guys.
They're old. They're done. Get some youth that can propel the team for years like Giovinco.
