"As my time at NYCFC comes to an end I would like to thank so many people for the kindness and support that they have shown me over the last two years. My teammates have been a pleasure to play alongside. The amazing fans have given me incredible support and backing. All the people that work behind the scenes at NYCFC have made it so easy for me to work and settle here. I have very much enjoyed my time, and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to play for such a great club and in such an incredible city. I leave with many great memories as I embark on the next stage of my career and I’ll be making an announcement very soon. NYCFC"

Okay. That settles it. It was fun to watch him this season once he got on the pitch - and I got to meet him once, and he couldn't have been more pleasant.

Second all time goal scorer at the Club, and historic first ever hat trick - and against the best defense in the league. Thanks for the good effort.

Now we can begin the speculation on our next DP.

Paging Mr. Iniesta, Mr. Andres Iniesta.

Hopefully Pirlo follows suit. I don't doubt that his heart was in it, but I'm not sure his legs were.

Iniesta + Kompany would be satisfactory.

Sad to see him go, he was a class act and great player when he finally got on the pitch.

Going by the Win! Documentary our budget is going to be around $6mm for a star name player or about $1mm for a random no name player.

All abord the Bastion Schweinstager hype train! Choo choo.

Mixed feelings, but muted feelings in general. His achievements here were probably overrated, but their recency overshadows his detractions.

Looking forward, his retirement gives us a chance to improve the club, so I'm happy to see him go and probably won't miss him much.

Next step in his career: Big money in the Middle East/China or Coaching in England?

I understand that Pirlo absolutely introduces weaknesses into our midfield, but I can't imagine trying to play Vieira's system without him. Find the right partner for him in Frank's spot and our midfield could be great.
We'll see. I think any team with Pirlo has to play Pirlo's system. I'd be interested to see what Vieira's midfield ideas are with normal players.
