Lampard Gone

This would be a savvy business move.
Yes, he would be a great draw for Japanese fans. And a great draw for all fans as a potential MLS MVP. He has the perfect skill set (still) for MLS. His taking over direct kicks for Pirlo (please) would also result in the free kick goals we had hoped Pirlo would provide. I love him for us.

For all parties. CFG obviously trying to grow into the Asian market. They already own part of Yokohama (as much as they legally can buy) and want a Chinese team.

Honda also has academies in the US and has said he wants to grow his brand in the states. The only issue is the fact that LA would likely also be in for him.

However, Nissan is a main sponsor of CFG and NYCFC. So Honda playing for a club sponsored by Nissan may be awkward.

Pirlo - Iraola - Honda?

I like Honda and always felt he was an underrated player. He's very smart and has good vision. He isn't a defensive player though and looks to push the ball forward. I don't know how that would work with Pirlo and Iraola.
If we were a 3-4-3 0r 3-5-2 team then him at RM and Ronald at LM would be pretty sweet...but that's not gonna happen.

I don't know, our weakness is defense on the back line and in the midfield. Unless Iraola turns into De Rossi our back line would have to be vastly improved otherwise we'll have the same results...offense no defense.

Replacing Pirlo with Honda would make the most sense. So there is that possibility.

I wouldn't pass up a chance to sign someone like Honda though. You have to sign him if available.

Will be grateful for our first ever hat-trick (scored in quintessentially English weather) and some crucial goals at crucial times off random body parts, but I think on balance it is time to call it a day.

All the best Fat Frank and here's hoping we get a younger, more athletic and just as exciting DP to replace you.

I'm also excited to see who they can get with Mix' money. Any DP is like a high NFL draft pick - the best you can hope for is that they live up to expectations. Finding a $750k diamond in the rough is where the real upside is, IMO.

I'm not convinced we really have that money to spend. We'll see.

I will eat a cookie burger tonight and tell the first person who makes a comment about it to "f*ck off" in his honor. And if I have to sign a check at the end of the meal, I'll grab a random paper to place my name on instead. If you pretend to sign, it's the same as signing, right??? Bye bye Franky, and thanks for the memories. You sure added some exicitemnt to these forums, that's for sure.

We lack athleticism
Athleticism? I got you here. I can run down the field all day.
