Los Angeles Fc

What do you mean? NYCFC put up a bad option on purpose to get fans to pick the one they wanted? I can buy that.
Not a bad option. Just another option. The badge was just a way for the club to show that they are doing their homework too (as far as trying to build a New York club). From a design standpoint (of which I have no formal training) the circle badge is just too perfect -- especially for CFG branding purposes.

Disturbingly, Vincent Tan - the Malaysian moron who always wears sunglasses, looks for all the world like some kind of low-budget 1960s Bond villain and masterminded changing Cardiff City's colours from blue to red "because red sells better in Asia" - is one of the new owners of LAFC.

Agreed, Tan is a doofus and completely shit on Cardiff's history. Not to mention he fired the man responsible for bringing his club into the stratosphere for no good reason.

Luckily he won't wield anywhere NEAR the power he has at Cardiff....he'll more or less just write some checks.

Whats the chances LAFC can build a new stadium near the Coliseum? Seems unlikely.

They will most likely tear down the LA Sports Arena and replace it with an SSS. Here's Twellman saying he heard as much: http://www.thegoatparade.com/2014/1...lay-in-los-angeles-coliseum-espnfc-chivas-usa

And here's an article from September 2013 saying USC was already considering that option at the time: http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/coll...c-takes-control-los-angeles-memorial-coliseum
The university also takes over control of the Sports Arena and has already looked into tearing down the 54-year-old facility and developing a 22,000-seat soccer stadium that could house a Major League Soccer team.

i want the club to be called "Riot" or "South Central United"

LA Riot definitely sounds neat, but it also gives off a little brother vibe to me. If they want to usurp LAG in the market, I think classic and simple works best. For example, NYCFC v Red Bulls.

So USC/the state of California would fund the stadium?

I guess that could make sense if LAFC is the tenant and USC owns the stadium. Not a terrible investment.

Here's an interesting site and proposals:

From what I've read, very likely.

The LA Sports Arena is apparently costing the government money. They'd love to unload it and get a money-maker one would assume.

It could be HUGE for LAFC, especially if they can get the USC kids to basically "adopt" them as one of their teams.

I might have to go see NYCFC play out there sometime...

Yes the Sports Arena proposal seems to have legs, it's been talked about for quite some time now and is kind of similar to our parking garage situation in which they need someone to basically bail them out. The good thing over there is that all of the property is owned by the University so fewer parties are involved in the process.
One interesting point though is that on the lafc.com website, they have the Rose Bowl in the background, not the Coliseum.
