For me, it's that I can't believe that there aren't any number of USL or NCAA guys that couldn't do the same job at least as well. I don't see a need to praise him for being a below average sub who tries hard. Hell, half the reason he "works" so hard is because he's so poor in every other facet.I think the point is that some of us don't see any value at any price point.
To my eye, he adds nothing beyond whomever would replace him. So I'm glad he works hard and he seems like a great kid. I'd love for him to prove me wrong in my evaluation of his ceiling. But he's not young and not really showed much potential, and he's had a lot of opportunities here and elsewhere, so he's not an RJ-type project. He got looks in USYNTs and was on the books of a good MLS team for a good while. For me, that indicates he very likely is what he is, and I would just as soon give someone else a shot.
