Baby face Chanot!
With the power he shoots with, I’m sure it’ll go in because it’s going through the goalkeeper’s faceNext year, if we get in another shootout, I'll be shocked if the opposing GK does anything but stand straight when Callens shoots. But he'll put it in somehow.
This is an awesome video. Ryan Field has a bunch of good stuff from that night. This is a great one from the watch party.

At away games we tend to have better coordination, not sure why though. It was well done this time! Much better than at Philadelphia. But I agree, if we can have this every game, it would make the supporter section absolutely rock!
That's what I figured was happening, and I was thinking about how interesting it was that they let us bring drums in for an away game! There's something about the expansiveness with the bleachers at YS that makes coordinating a little tougher (particularly with no distinct leader at the front helping keep everybody on the same page. At away games we're all compact and can hear each other / the drums with a lot more ease.
Which brings me to the second point -- having no drums in Philly was REALLY tough. It's already hard to keep a large group of people in time (particularly if they aren't rhythmically inclined), but it's even harder when you don't have a distinct beat to give them.
Of all people for you to be behind in the security line, OF COURSE it was the VAR. That's incredible.
For the record, even though I firmly believe that was a foul, I'm actually OK with it not being called in that moment. Five seconds to go in the championship game, their last chance, I'm OK with it being a non-call. It's a foul at nearly all times of the season, but in that moment I'm OK with the way it went down. Plus if they do call that goal back, there's probably a riot on their hands.
I'm sure had we lost I'd be thinking differently.
Curious -- would you feel the same way if we had ended up losing?
A source confirmed this to me.

Some context: ESPN aired MLS Cup from 2011-2015 and in 2017. ABC aired the final in 2019, drawing an average of 823,000 viewers and a peak of 1.1 million.
Source added that audience is up from 2020 Cup, which drew 1.07 million viewers on FOX. https://t.co/XybfRtOkbd
Wow, that would have been so cool to watch with the extra wings!Timbers Army was supposed to be bigger.
Due to safety concerns with the wind, we chose not to deploy the full tifo yesterday. Here’s the full design. #RCTID pic.twitter.com/9v9FiVJWDO

Callens had a similarly dorky celebration after his Atlanta goal as well. Are we all going to keep pretending that the game-winning kick was not followed by one of the dorkiest goal celebrations in football history? Sweet, but dorky.
You have it rightBy the way, what is the 8 beat chant the Timbers Army does? Is it
P-T beat beat
F-C beat beat
Or something else?
