Nice slate of midweek games, followed by a big weekend.

Two big Eastern Conference matchups on Wednsday night, as Orlando travels to Toronto and DC hosts Columbus. Both visitors need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Then, there are two big interconference matchups also on Wednesday. Montreal hosts San Jose as it tries to reverse a terrible slide. Meanwhile, Seattle hosts Chicago and with a victory will move above the Red Line in the Western Conference.

The weekend kicks off with our game down in Houston.

Big Saturday games include the Red Bulls hosting Philly and Toronto hosting DC in the East, and in the West, Colorado hosts Portland and Dallas hosts LA.

Sunday features Orlando hosting Montreal and Vancouver hosting Seattle.

If Montreal either draws or loses to San Jose tonight AND DCU either draws or loses to Columbus, NYCFC is guaranteed a playoff match at home.

Toronto is bossing Orlando. Amazing that it's still scoreless.

Orlando messed up several chances with poor touches in the box and Kaka sent one shot straight at the keeper that he should have finished.

Then again, Will Johnson probably should have finished one at the end there.

All in all, holding Toronto to one point ain't all that bad and definitely something I'll take.

They played so many square and back passes even with a man advantage that it felt like I was watching a Kries-led team..... oh, wait....

I was really disappointed with Orlando's play the last 10 minutes or so. They clearly backed off the attack. Toronto were keeping all 9 guys behind the ball, and Orlando stopped moving numbers forward because they were afraid of the counter. That's why they were playing so many back passes and failing to connect in the final third.

So wait, all of the games in hand Toronto had are gone now, and they sit one point above us? Basically everyone who matters in the East on 3 games left, at 49/48/48? Shit is about to get real! How is everyone planning on sleeping tonight?

If we win on Friday, we clinch a home playoff match.

If Philly were to also lose, we cannot finish any lower than third. But I don't think any of us want Philly to lose.

I'm working at a client across the street from the Red Bulls training facility this week and I'm assuming they'll be back out at it today/tomorrow after the trip down to Guatemala. Any ideas on things I can do to mess with their mojo (legally of course)?

Columbus would be eliminated if they lose to Chicago and DCU beats Toronto and Montreal beats Orlando. OR
Columbus loses to Chicago and DCU beats Toronto and Montreal draws/beast Orlando.

Orlando is eliminated if they lose to Montreal and DCU beats Toronto.

New England is eliminated if they lose to SKC and DCU beats Toronto and Montreal beats Orlando.

The playoff teams in the East could be determined after this week (but this relies on a DCU win @Toronto which I would be totally cool with).

In the West, Dallas clinches a first round bye with a win against the Galaxy.

Vancouver is eliminated if they lose to the Sounders and Portland earns a draw or win against Colorado.

San Jose is eliminated if they lose to RSL and SKC draws or wins against the Revs AND Portland beats Colorado AND Seattle beats Vancouver.

Good stuff.

In our next-to-last game, I would much prefer to play a DC team that knows it has wrapped up a playoff spot than one still feeling desperate to secure its place. Same with playing a Columbus team in the last week that has already been eliminated.

A DC team that can't improve its position in the seeding.
