New Swag

Counterpoint: I like this one better than the original. The old one to me looks like someone with no experience took a graphics program and used the line tool to draw the letters. Like the Y, for example. It's three straight lines with three more straight line serifs tacked on each end cap. The new one looks like a designer was given the old logo and asked to fix it. The old letters are too thin, are so dissimilarly sized, and are just sort of tossed together. The new letters have much more weight to them, feel physically connected, and are "organically" shaped. In other words, they're not stick figures stuck together, they're solid letters with weight to them, and have gentle curves implying the serifs rather then bonking you over the head with them.

In short, the new logo was designed where the old one was just kind of thrown together.
Counterpoint: the new letters - on that hat - look short fat and stupid, and that's no way to go through life. ;):p

Serious question though - because I'm curious and peoples' varied tastes can be interesting: would you prefer the 24/7 jersey with this version of the monogram?

LOL about the hat! But actually I don't really like the "naked" NYC logo. Love the crest, don't love the letters-only logo.

I'm relatively neutral on the jersey question. I think I'd rather wait for them to have another new design next year and leave this year's jersey the way it is. That way it's a redesign rather than just a "correction."

I take umbrage at this comment 😂

anybody looking to get the 24/7 authentic jersey, you can get it direct from adidas for $94.50 plus tax. lots of sizes available. Currently 10% off and you can get an extra 30% off with code SPORT. shipping is free with adiclub membership, which is free to sing up for. there's also 12% cashback on rakuten currently, which essentially takes care of sales tax and a little more.. if you do not have that, it's free to sign up. Good way to get a little extra cash off sometimes. I'm sure some credit cards or banks have extra rewards/points on adidas right now too since they usually happen coincidentally.

Thank you for this! Used all of this info and essentially got the jersey for $75. Just arrived today! Was not expecting it. No sleeve patches from the adidas store, but I’ll survive.

I don’t normally customize jerseys, but I’d love to get Moralez put on the back since he’s such a legend.

Need the forums help/opinions about two things…

1) where can I get it customized that isn’t the stadium? That’ll be unnecessarily expensive and wait times suck. I know upper 90 did it, but it seems they changed names? Did they become a new company that’s trust worthy? Does the Adidas store in midtown customize?

2) do I get the #10 put on the back because he’s legendary for us and that’s mainly been he’s number here or #27 since he wore it last year and it’s kind of a hilarious number for him to have worn. I’m all about the memes haha

Glad you were able to take advantage!

1) Upper 90 is owned/run by Soccer Post now. They are a well known company with stores all over the country. I remember them being around 30 years ago and did some of my youth soccer shopping at my local store. I haven't been to any of the upper 90 locations since they changed to soccer post, but i'm sure if you gave them a call you could find out if they still do custom jerseys and what they can provide (maybe some patches?). As far as trustworthiness, you should be fine. I don't recall the flagship adidas store in midtown offering in store personalization, so not sure on that.

2) if you are getting moralez to pay homage to maxi's legendary status, then i think #10 is the way to go since that was his number during his legendary run and he's wearing it again now. #27 would be purely for memeness! so i vote for #10.

Soccer and Rugby, which has locations in Westchester and CT, will do names and numbers for a very reasonable price. They'll order the proper sets from Adidas or just cut the numbers/letters themselves for an even lower price. We've gone for the 2nd option and it always turns out very well.
