Ok guys. Are we a much better team then last year? YES without question. However that doesn't mean there are any moral victories. The good news is that we have outplayed every team we faced so far this year. The bad news we only have 4 points to show in 3 games. The improvement on the field is easy to see. The improvement in the standings, so far, is not there.

If the following players start next game. You know there are some issues.

Saunders (for the 100th time) is not a starting GK in this league. In any league really. He should be benched and Lurch should get the next 3 games at least to see how he does.

Shelton - needs to come of the bench. The kid is absolutely clueless with the ball, his crossing is laughable, his passing is very bad. In short he brought nothing the past two games excepting killing the flow on offense and turning the ball over.

Overall the team played hard, which you give them a ton of credit for.

We had numerous chances and couldn't convert and hit a legit post. Cant really get mad at that. That's soccer.

Next game, I want Saunders on the bench and shelton too. Mendoza in, Lurch in. Poku seeing some meaningful minutes and lets go!

Also thought Mullins looked bright and we'll never score from a set piece.

Agree with you Saunders sucks!!! Khiry is such a pussy and his passing is atrocious. Mendoza I will give him the benefit of the doubt because I'm not sure he knows which team is his right now. Minus his laughable awful pass attempts he's a stud. Hernandez sucks... Matarrita is our defense he swarms all over the place. Saunders sucks.. Mix missed a couple golden opportunities. One was a great save but the other he smashed it into his gut any direction either way he scores. Saunders sucks. Medhi sucks. Saunders sucks. Oh and I kind of love that Bravo is a dick head. He's slower then I would have liked but he's an enforcer and I like him our team is made up of too many cup cakes. Saunders sucks.

Like i said last week, saunders out!

Pirlo was great though, and it was nice to see a back line that didn't totally collapse.

The booing was towards the ref. I agree about the lack of power behind the poku chants. Shelton should not be a starter is my take away from this game. Granted he is playing on the shifty part of the field, but as I saw him right in front of me time and time again wasting possession.

Missed most of the match, but that goal Orlando scored was shocking. Not good on Saunders, and the defense to an extent as well. Got to keep a body on Larin.

If he plays over Tony Taylor I'll be pissed. Tony is much better the Kitty Cat Khiry.

Pirlo has been very good this season. Only critique is he's seemed to have left his world class free kicks in Europe. It's doubly frustrating because Villa was scoring on free kicks last season.

The ref was terrible. In no way shape or form am I suggesting he cost us anything but he was the definition of an MLS ref who seems to think we need to prove to casual american fans that soccer isn't for sissies so just let's both teams foul the crap out of each other.

We were the better team for 80 percent of the game sadly football is probably the sport where you most often of any can dominate and still lose.

Where the F is Poku. I understand Vieira believes in the overall system but if it's the 75th minute, and we haven't scored, we need to change the tempo and sub in Poku. I don't know what's the situation with Poku, but the reality is that he is a game changer.

Pirlo had another terrific game.

Without Mataritta we would've gotten smacked by at least 3 goals.

We needed Poku this game, the three subs had little to no impact.

Orlando is a dirty team and the ref let them do what they wanted. Hats to break down a bunkered team when they are permitted to beat the shit out of our guys. Ballouchy was a weird sub, because Orlando weren't even trying to move the ball. A forward would have been better. Shit game.

We have a worse record than last year after three games. Our schedule only gets harder, this one really hurts to lose

Enjoyed the Tifo. Defense was very encouraging. Mata and Hernandez were great and even though Iraola had a number of give aways in the first half, he warmed up, made that great save, and seems like he can play out of the back. Pirlo was great again. Mendoza has some good moves and he is quick. We had so many crosses into the box to nobody. Seemed like the ball was just not bouncing to us in the box. Good possession. Played well, just didn't score. I really can't believe that after an entire year and two games the concessions can't figure out how to move the food lines at halftime.

Saunders aside, I think that this was our best all-around defensive performance in our brief history.

We also ran circles around them elsewhere. But circles aren't good for much if you can't score. Such a combo of exciting and frustrating.

When this team clicks we will be a force. Just don't want to punt too many points before we get there.

I am disappointed by the attendance. Cold or not, I would have expected a better turn-out for the second game on a Friday night.

I was served a cold Nathan's dog. That was less than optimal.

I'm not going to comment on the match because I'm too fucking disappointed in our team not finishing chances, our goalkeeper being continually shit, and the referees blowing the whistle out of their asses.

That being said, I had to the chance to speak with White, Brandt, and Harrison before the game. White prefers New York to Philly. Brandt just started to run after not being able to for 9 months. Harrison said he'll be on the field in a few weeks.

Then I had the chance to speak with Claudio. A few things to note. That mystery international spot was always with our team, the league just never announced it but we had it since last year. Something still doesn't add up. Eirik Johansen is still 18 in goalkeeping years per Claudio and that he's next in line. Zlatan? Claudio just was like wow, no, he's too much to handle. I said what about an early retirement for Lampard and Zlatan coming in. He began to laugh. I said you built a much better team this year. He said there's still more building to come, it's not over yet. I don't think this means any more players just in terms of signings this year, but we're only 2 years into the franchise.

The 4th official was gave Vieira and some of the NYCFC coaches a final warming in the 70th minute or so. Rightly so, because the refs were fucking trash. Garbage fire in New Jersey level trash.

It was a cold and rainy Friday night in the Bronx and I'm fucking pissed. We can't drop points like this if we want to get into the playoffs. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Blech. On a night like tonight half the reason you get one is to have something warm. I hate that the concessions staff appear be using these first three games as training.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a worse ref in MLS..... Orlando was the #1 team coming in to the game for fouls committed and there were so many blatant fouls that the ref refused to call. I'll say it - the ref lost points for us when not calling the takedown of TMac in the box nor when Villa was mugged and I'm pretty sure Orlando cleared a ball in the box with their arm because everybody in the stadium was screaming for a PK. It was like the circus - the ball goes out in front of the third base linesman and he looks to the ref for direction.

Pirlo was so disgusted that he left the field at the whistle and headed straight to the locker room without shaking any hands.

Last gripe.... If an opposing player is down in the middle of the field and away from the play, do not ever kick the ball out to be nice - it's the other team's responsibility to win the ball and until they do, attack attack attack. That was bullshit that the ref motioned for the ball to be kicked out and then we did it - twice!

Great insight! I guess we need to just give you a list of unanswered questions every game that you can bring to him lol.

WTF happened that led to T-Mac shoving the Orlando player midway through the first half? I was amazed after that neither of them got a yellow.

the ref didn't call anything at all either way, so he called it "fair" in that sense, but that benefits Orlando since they're so fucking physical - they didn't get their reputation for getting cards by accident.
