Just got home from the match a little while ago and I have to say I'm a little surprised by some of the comments here. We only let in one goal, and also had that scare where Saunders did that flying punch but as they were supposed to we had two defenders on the goal line to lend a hand. Also, we could have easily scored 6 if we had some bounces go our way. My major impression was that we actually looked like a darn good team for once, more on the offensive side than on the defensive side.
Wasn't all that impressed with Iraola for the first two thirds of the match. He got the ball, then just passed it backwards to someone else almost right away. He woke up for the last bit though and was up and down the field the way I'd expected him to be.
Anyone know if Vieira made his keepers do only short passes for the Man City teams he coached? It's like he's burned it into the team so deeply that they wouldn't even pass long in extra time at the end. Also, he must know something we don't if he's staying with Saunders and not putting in Poku. I'm still going to give him the benefit of the doubt though. It's only the third game and we've looked pretty good considering.

Pretty awesome that he's open to answer those questions. Which makes you wonder if these were such a mystery why media didn't just ask him and get a damn answer.
I've seen him a lot during games since last year but I don't think he knows my face. That being said, he's talking to a 21 year old fan and not someone that's going to be writing something for publication. When I asked about the international spot, he was like the one from Kansas City? And I'm not no, the one before that. I told him my theory that it's the permanent one from Chivas USA that the league kept. He didn't confirm or deny that we got that spot. Like I said, he just said we had it since last year. I spoke with him on the pitch side not on the tunnel so he didn't really have anywhere to go. I spoke with him for 3-4 minutes then he said he had to talk to other people. Very genuine.
I also forgot to mention...Green Card News: JACK HARRISON and EIRIK JOHANSEN are in the process of getting their green cards. No timetable.
I really should check my spelling more and right with more polite language if my posts are going on Twitter. They're going to know someone's getting this news and go silent to the fans.
What was really infuriating about his assist to Larin was somebody 3-4 inches taller would have been able to get some real punch to the ball rather than tipping it gently to the striker in stride. It was gut wrenching to watch that shit.
I don't know what Saunders has to do at this point to get yanked - I feel like his goals have been so soft and yet he still gets the nod. Baffling.
That would suggest Johansen is the long term keeper going forward. Wish he was the keeper now and hope he is next week.
How though does Johansen qualify for a green card after one year? Isn't it a multi year process of residency?

Saunders is not half as good as the worst backup keeper in the league. He's atrocious. I think the fact that he is on our payroll is up there with why the pyramids were built in world mysteries.

That referee should be banned from ever entering a soccer field ever again.

So frustrating. Ref sucked. We played pretty good. Can't finish for shit though. We have young inexperienced players in scoring positions that can't finish a 1v1 or shot on goal. I think the formula is working and it'll get better.
It's probably just a coincidence that the ref looked like Grant Wahl and both are annoying as shit in both of their professions.

I would say even in the last 8 minutes they put a lot of intensity a love of desire to try and come back and that’s why I’m really frustrated tonight because we gave the game away. Our first 10-15 minutes really make it difficult for us and this is what’s frustrating because the last 75-80 minutes we controlled the game. We played in a really positive way. We created few chances. But the first 15 minutes wasn’t good at all.”
On unsuccessful conversion of corners…
“Obviously we create few free kicks, I think we did some stuff quite really interesting, we created chances. But we are not a big size, I think set pieces are not in our strength, we just have to be a little more creative. But I think today we put ourselves in a really good situation in corners and set pieces but the finishes weren’t there but it is something that we are working on.
I think in football the most important is to create chances. With the quality of the players we have up front we will score the goals. I am not at all worried about it. Today was day where the luck and the Orlando organization make it really difficult for us but we still create chances and I believe that we will get a time where it will be more luck on our side and we could keep scoring goals. But of course we have to keep working and keep believing in ourselves and working and working and working again.”
On Orlando’s 3 person wall…
“It was really difficult they were well organized and they make it really difficult for us to penetrate centrally. That’s why we decided to go wide and create the 1-1 situation but obviously when you go in the 1v1 and try to put the ball inside the box, the delivery wasn’t the best but I believe we give them a hard time tonight. I think the only thing missing tonight was the goals.”

Taylor said the switch between him and Mendoza was not purposeful but happened during play.
At least there wasn't a direct vote of confidence for Saunders. Still have hope....
Why can't someone in the media just ask point blank: How safe is Saunders job? WTF is happening with Poku? Can you describe how shit the refs were tonight?
