Think about the difference a player of the quality that Jack is with the ball at his feet with his distributions, shots, and mentality. Think about who we had in this spot for majority of this season who just was/is clueless with the ball, no confidence, and no touch (Shelton). When Shelton was not there, we had Mendoza or Taylor, all can't come close to Jack. Yes Lampard has been very good and his hustle on that first goal prior to the corner kick was great, when he slid and got the ball to Tmac. To me Jack Harrison is the fucking man. He makes us so much more dangerous and opens everyone else open so much. It will be a sad day when he leaves NYCFC but fuck it, lets not worry about that now.
Yes. I thought this after the last game. It's not just what Harrison brings to the team in terms of goals and assists, but his presence opens up the entire offense. Everyone has more space because of the threat he creates on the right side.
Big shout-out to roxfontaine and all of the SG members that kept the stadium lit all game long !!! That was without a doubt the best atmosphere we've had ever. The Tifo was amazing - best yet!!! The songs never stopped, and the Come on New York cheer made it's way around to 228 a few times with everybody clapping & singing along - that's really becoming the team's cheer!!! Bring that energy every game!
I am almost embarrassed that I forgot to mention how great the supporters were today. Like the team itself, they are really coming into their own, and had a great day today. They kept up the intensity and had everyone around them going strong.
And how great a moment was it to see the players come over to salute them at the end of the match. A few weeks ago, the players punted balls in and they got returned. A horrible day for both supporters and players. Today the supporters were excellent and the players returned the love. Eafter the game, every signed ball was kicked or thrown behind that goal. They players noticed.
We've still never lost or tied our third game after a two game win streak. We're really good at three game win streaks. We've never gone four in a row.
On another note, is it outrageous to think we can compete for the supporters shield? Or at least top in the east for spot in the Champions League?
Certainly it's not outrageous to think we can compete for top of the East, since we are in that spot right now. Our schedule is very tough down the stretch, but who is a bigger favorite right now than us?
As for the Supporters' Shield, let's see where we are at month's end. Colorado has a big lead.
