Really going to try and follow Serie A more closely this year. Watched quite a bit through ESPN+ last year, but didn’t really pay attention too much if that makes sense.
Probably the most entertaining European league for me. Has the type of chaos that makes MLS fun along with the technical skill of the major euro leagues. I also like that they play later in the day haha

By this do you mean it has competitive balance, or is it a comment on the style of play, or something else?

It's funny when I was in high school it was largely the Italian kids that got me into the sport but I also sort of intentionally didn't really follow an Italian team because I knew so many Italian fans. I felt like I'd feel like a bit of a phony wearing a kit for a Serie A team when I knew so many people with Italian blood who rooted for this team or that team based on family connections and my reasons would just be "I like them because of this player or shirt color or what not" (In reaction I mostly got into Ligue 1 , Marseille and the French national team because I am PART French) But not I find myself getting more into Serie A and it's for a very simple reason. My work schedule makes it virtually impossible for me to watch Saturday morning or afternoon games live so a league that mostly plays on Sunday is highly appealing.
I get that sentiment. MLS with quality on the pitch.
If I can equate it to American football, the league used be a ground and pound, run/defense league. It's really opened up the last few years. It's still hard to score, but the emphasis has been on not going up 1-0 and having 9 guys sit in the back defending. Trying to make the league more entertaining.
FYI, for anyone with ESPN+, the Serie A highlight show is pretty good.
Yeah it was bad. It used to be just reported, but now people are recording it to expose the groups. I read a lot of Italian sports sites and this is the most negative attention I've seen about the chants and noises. I think this will finally be the start of really cleaning this crap up.

Cagliari in particular seem to have multiple previous without any significant punishment I think that really needs to change.
Apparently Serie A was trying its damnedest to get rid of the videos with the racial chants to cover their asses, at least according to what I've seen/read on twitter. Hopefully people will continue to call this out and get some change. It's a good league tainted by a few racist hooligans.
Oh my god, a group of Inter ultras have written an open letter to Lukaku trying to "helpfully" explain that racist monkey chanting isn't "really" racist because it's being done by fans to help their team.

It's a ridiculous letter. It doesn't even make any sense. The issue is, that the group L’Urlo della Nord is a tiny group. The way it's being reported is that the Inter supporters are justifying it and that's not the case. "Curva Nord" is just the north side of the stadium. It consists of various groups. Definitely a bad look though.
ETA: I remember they did the same to Napoli's Koulibaly and all fans were banned for a few games last year. The group justified it by saying they would have made monkey noises to him even if he wasn't black.
The leader of the ultras was arrested after a fan was killed two years ago. After the clash with Napoli fans, police found hammers, knives, pipes & machetes.
There were talks about shutting the whole supporters section down for good.

It's not just Inter, it's still happens throughout Europe. And it's not just the teams at fault it's also the leagues. Whether it's La Liga, Premier league, Serie A, etc.
As America pushes for open borders, the opposite is happening in Europe. Most of the supporter groups would be considered nationalists. The world is a very divisive place right now with polarizing views. Everyone is tolerant unless they disagree. The sport needs to make the stadiums safe and inviting for all. There needs to be defined penalties for teams and it needs to be consistent across leagues. Whether it's monetary, point reducing or tournament disqualifications, is a whole other topic. It's gonna be difficult though, regardless of right or wrong. Nobody likes to be told that their views are wrong and someone else's view are right, but when that goes beyond talk and is forced upon, it just winds up creating more animosity.
So I'm thinking Emre Can regrets leaving Liverpool for Juventus. LFC and Juve both see him in more of a supporting role and not featured. He holds the ball too much. The problem is I've heard in the past and present that he thinks he's a world class player. He's good, but he's not that.
Wonder if Alexis Sanchez can resurrect his career. Hear that he wants to come to MLS after playing in Europe. If Italy doesn't work out for him, that day may come sooner than later. With Cavani already slated for Miami, add Sanchez to the mix and you bring two big South Americans to the league. That would be big for MLS.

Some Inter fans who don't consider themselves Ultras, and/or Ultras of a different clique, have been taking to r/soccer to distance themselves from that absurd statement I referred to earlier. So that's something.
The group that wrote that dumb letter is very small.
