There's a stadium-sized rectangular open space right there between Willets Point Boulevard and Roosevelt Ave., directly across 126th St. from Citi Field. Looks like a no-brainer to me. Last I heard the Mets wanted $40 million for use of the parking lot (I think it's a one-time payment), but other than that there aren't a lot of obvious complications.I'm assuming he meant Willets Point when he said Citi Field. The Citi Field parking lot won't happen because that is technically part of the park (ridiculous, I know, but...). But Willets-- that could, and should, be the first-choice location in the City. It's perfect for so many reasons. I think it's the front-runner, or at least tied with the GAL site...
I’m refusing this recent and updated version of the hopium. Sorry, I’m just not taking it.
Also, happy 1000. Here’s to another 1000 (reverse jinx).
He never said it’s happening though, just that he’s willing to engage in discussions again. IIRC that is.I’m about as negative as they come. I’m telling you. It’s happening. If Eric Adams says it’s happening. It’s happening.

If we do end up at Hudson Yards, what does that do to the size of the stadium?
In the Bronx or Queens, we are thinking 25-30K. If we build in Manhattan, I think we could go 35-40K.
40,000 is the minimum size to host a World Cup game, although it may be too late to get on the list for 2026.
People couldn't complain about that pitch any more than they do the current one.
It’s happening. All parties aligned.
Who are the all the parties? It’s happening. All parties aligned.
perhaps this is why Sims seemed so downright upbeat about it at the city hall ceremony. If they’ve had positive discussions with Adams, then yeah, it’s happening.

My OPINION is that Hudson Yards doesn’t make sense but that’s what Adams wants. What does he know that we don’t? Maybe it’s his fantasy to have a glitzy new stadium in Manhattan that HE got done. Hell of a legacy to leave behind.
Well tell this transition team person about my idea off the FDR then hahah (Privately owned off Exit 8, south of UN, old Con Ed plant)
Doubt it's Hudson Yards. No idea where the info is nowadays because it was a while ago but pretty sure I remember seeing plans with tall commercial and residential buildings there a few years ago.

From the wikipedia page linked above:
The western portion of the yard is bordered by 30th Street and 33rd Street in the north and south, and Eleventh and Twelfth avenues in the east and west. The western phase of the project is to contain up to seven residential towers, an office building at 33rd Street and Eleventh Avenue tentatively known as "West Tower", and a school serving Pre-K to eighth grade students.[4] The third phase of the High Line will traverse Phase 2 of the project.[12]
Work on the platform to cover the second half of the tracks was originally scheduled to begin in 2018,[173] and Phase 2 was to have been completed by 2024.[174] However, construction was later rescheduled to begin in 2019.[28] Around $500 million of financing for Phase 2 was approved in mid-2018.[175] As of February 2021, there is no set completion date for Phase 2 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[5][162]
