Interesting stuff. He is entirely correct that those 50 acres are a disgrace. Turning 50 acres of parkland into an asphalt covered lot that isn't used most days of the year was an abdication of basic responsibility by the state and city governments.
I like that he wants to use that space to connect the neighborhoods and provide easier waterfront access. I also like that he talks about including green space in the development. That said, I worry that these are dangling carrots meant to distract from his real interest, which is a casino.
How about this. Take 40 of those 50 acres and turn them into parkland. Then use the other 10 on parking garages. You can set the parkland up to accommodate picnics/tailgates before games and then let it be used as, you know, a park the other days of the year.
