Welcome back! I think we're all assuming it will be Etihad until we hear differentBack!
Any ideas what might the stadium sponsor might be?
ok so probably will be Etihad as the sponsor... but what are we gonna call it? it needs a good name. definitely don't want another "the etihad"
It will officially be the Etihad, but we can call it whatever we damn well please.
"The Coop" or "The Valley of Ashes" are good options.
The Loft, although I don't think I'll put any money down on that. That's where homing pigeons live, and when released in a distant location they fly home to their loft.It will officially be the Etihad, but we can call it whatever we damn well please.

And the ball is knocked out for another NYCFC Brownfields Corner sponsored by Reclamation Technologies™.They should save a chop shop to give it that historic context as a focal point.
Etihad Airways is pre-approved for the naming rightsBack!

Etihad Pitch at Willets PointThe Iron Pitch, the Iron Rectangle, Willets field.
Developers periodically through the years have tried to build on those Citi Field parking lots. There’s always community opposition and rightfully so, it’s alienated parkland. Willets on the other hand is not, which is another reason it was such a good location. Plus embedding it in a 100% affordable housing project… brilliant. There was literally no opposition to the stadium project.Lol maybe he biggest effect of Cohen's casino dreams will be to draw away what might have been local opposition to the soccer stadium.
Flushing group holds rally calling for amenity-rich park next to Citi Field instead of casino – QNS
Dozens of members of the Flushing Anti Displacement Alliance (FADA) marched from Flushing’s Lippman Plaza to Citi Field on Saturday, Feb. 3 to publiclyqns.com
Though honestly I don't think this group has much hope of succeeding with its plan to convert the entirety of the City Field parking lots in a green park with, apparently, no garage or anything.
