It will officially be the Etihad, but we can call it whatever we damn well please.

"The Coop" or "The Valley of Ashes" are good options.

I've always been a fan of "the coop" as it fits the pigeon nickname. but it's design of the stadium doesn't really fit the name.... much. maybe if they keep that giant pigeon emblem like in the renderings...

The Loft, although I don't think I'll put any money down on that. That's where homing pigeons live, and when released in a distant location they fly home to their loft.

Is there a name for the new neighborhood being built, because they can class it up and call it The Football Pitch at Neighborhood Name. They should save a chop shop to give it that historic context as a focal point.

Lol maybe he biggest effect of Cohen's casino dreams will be to draw away what might have been local opposition to the soccer stadium.

Though honestly I don't think this group has much hope of succeeding with its plan to convert the entirety of the City Field parking lots in a green park with, apparently, no garage or anything.

Developers periodically through the years have tried to build on those Citi Field parking lots. There’s always community opposition and rightfully so, it’s alienated parkland. Willets on the other hand is not, which is another reason it was such a good location. Plus embedding it in a 100% affordable housing project… brilliant. There was literally no opposition to the stadium project.
