Has anyone suggested running our own candidate for Mayor yet? I mean, I know it's a bit late for this one, but we can start the campaigning early for 2021...

Side conversation not related to the election... Attendance at the playoff game was just north of 23k. Of those, roughly how many are season ticket holders? Maybe 17-18k at this point? So none season ticket holders purchased maybe 4-5k. Is that a terrible number for a playoff game? I know we were losing but I'm sure most of those tickets were purchased prior to the first leg.

We have at most 17k season tickets, probably at least a little bit less. Subtract what I suspect was a decent number of opt outs because of the scheduling uncertainties, and they had to sell a decent number for this game.

Bill de Blasio wins reelection.
-----------------------------------
Melinda Katz wins reelection.
Francisco Moya wins unopposed in District 21.

This so lines up for a Willets Point, Queens site.

Ruben Diaz Jr wins reelection.
Diana Ayala wins District 8.

This lines up for a GAL Warehouse in the Bronx.

The Queens lineup has been more vocal than the Bronx one.

Dante de Blasio is not wearing an NYCFC jersey on stage tonight.

Well, shut down the thread for 4 years, no stadium happening until the next administration.

thanks for the link on unopposed. A little disappointed it wasn't a rickroll, but you know, still like the effort to educate.

Be interesting to see, now that she’s CM-elect, what Ayala’s position on the GAL site is, since I don’t think she’s ever mentioned it publicly.

When do the new guys take office? December 31? To the extent we need them to influence things, or at least think they will want some credit, that suggests an announcement earlier next year rather than over the next few weeks.

New terms begin for all municipal officials, from the mayor on down, on January 1st. So you're most likely right (but I think there's an off chance that something could come out in the interim, since the very nature of the ULURP clock means that the project won't officially get to the Council until late next year anyway).

The more I read the tax bill, the more I realize it's Trump trying to punish those he doesn't like, starting with the NFL (stadium tax deals) and coastal elites (tax on investment income from large college endowments)
Also the part making tuition grants to grad students for teaching taxable, which will basically destroy post-graduate education in this country.
