Matt wrote a good article about his time at the training facility. http://soccer.nbcsports.com/2018/04...aining-routine/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

In the article the Patricof comment is

President Jon Patricof on vision for pursuing a stadium

“This is not going to put our fans at ease. And nor should it. Listen, MLS is continuing to grow and the stakes are rising. The standards are rising. We’re really proud of this facility, but this is what is expected of MLS clubs today. It’s a huge milestone. It’s important. In no way does it slow down our plans in pursuing a stadium. We have to and continue to press full speed on that front. I recognize that expectations are high. We are highly focused on it.

If "not an active site" means "we're not interested any more" rather than "ESD won't get off its ass and put out an RFP," then last week would be even harder to explain. Who the hell was this person emailing NYCFC's stadium proposal to a real estate blog and assuring them it was going to win? What's the endgame there?

How is it not concerning? How are you reading the quote from Patricof?

“This (the training grounds) is not going to put our fans at ease. And nor should it. Listen, MLS is continuing to grow and the stakes are rising. The standards are rising. Edit and...

"We submitted something to the State [of New York] as part of a request for expressions of interest," said Patricof about the Harlem River Yards site. "But that's it. That site is not an active site." (We have not won the bid. We are not even in the RFP stage yet. We’re waiting for the State to get off their collective asses and looking at other option in the meantime. But if there is an RFP, we’re going for it.)

That's what I was hoping. I tweeted Matt Reed last night to follow up on what he posted. Never heard back but what you werew is exactly what I asked him. Is it only "inactive" because they're waiting for the RFP?

EVERYBODY FIND ALL THE SITES IN THE CITY OWNED BY THE STATE!

I bet if we did this we could unearth another stadium site or two. It only took ESD a few days to turn around my request for the Harlem River Yards proposals.

Now that I think about it, though, they were slower with me than they were with De Mause, who posted NYCFC's PDF within a day of the initial reveal. I'm gonna start a conspiracy theory that he got the doc first, then planted the YIMBY article to drive traffic for his Village Voice and Field of Schemes posts.

All of the soccer "journalists" are too busy tweeting pictures of themselves wearing the free shit NYCFC gave them to ask good follow-up questions.
