I never really thought about it and I haven't been to another MLS stadium beside RBA...but the team/stadium does a lousy job promoting the league as a whole.

all away stadiums ive been to (5 of them) may sometims show scores, but mostly they show the MLS on FS1 or on ESPN ads you see on tv, although nycfc still does those anyway

There were a lot of empty seats Saturday night but what surprised me was seeing so many people on their phones disinterested in the game. Even saw this guy in the bathroom carrying on to everyone how this was the worst soccer he ever saw, it's in a baseball stadium, that he wasted his money, etc.

To the fans, it impacts the game...but to the team, maybe getting 20k a game at yankee stadium makes more money than 30k at a new stadium. As a business, is there a rush? If we get down to 17k per game, they might start to scramble. Will it be to late? Probably not.

to be fair it was shitty, hell even the RB game was bad ( was not there for montreal as i was stuck at work). the phone thing i cant comment since im in the bleachers, but i see similar action at baseball games too.

the only one profiting is the yankees. im sure even if you had 40K the rent, and expenses at YS dont really push you way up in profit

Lending some weight to the idea that the Bronx isn’t a foregone conclusion and the club is still working multiple sites, the most recent lobbying filing May and June shows Queens still in play. EDC could pertain to either.

Maybe the Bronx developer leaked to the Times because they are getting desperate? Queens avoids all the headaches of sacrificing on stadium design to fit into a less then ideal sized lot.

Allianz Field Minnesota - Light test. This is one nice stadium.

Sigh......

The residents crying about more traffic...they realize we already play there? Besides the one guy thinks we won't survive in MLS, so why even bother lol

Just wait until there's a Yankee game and an NYCFC game scheduled for the same day. Oh boy. Parking. Traffic. Nuts.

I'd like to think that wouldn't happen, but I guess I should know better than that.

I mean, currently we don't have any games schedules together (DUHHHH) but that causes some scheduling problems (either due to being to close to an NYCFC possible game, or just straight up day conflict...) so I'd see us having games on the same day which would be horrific for attendance and parking...

idk. Stagger start times by an hour and I bet the MTA would be manageable. Sure beats the scheduling problems we have now

I mean, they can do it at Citi Field with the US Open in September. While traffic and parking would be an issue, I'd assume they'd try to stagger the start times if at all possible. Probably wouldn't have many direct conflicts.

Frankly, we're such a long way from that issue. The team is on item 17, we're on item 844. Cross that bridge when we get there.
