Said they need a stadium solution in Chicago more or less.
If you’ve ever been out there, the stadium is in a far and weird location relative to the city. Would be like putting our stadium in Duchess County.
That’s a bit of an exaggeration.
Dutchess County is far. I know. I grew up there. Its closest point (Beacon) is 58 miles from YS.
Bridgeview is 15 miles from Grant Park.
YS is roughly 8 miles from Grand Central.
It WOULD however, be akin to putting a team in a place like, say, Harrison NJ.
Have you driven from Grant Park to Bridgeview before?
I went to the game last year in Bridgeview. There are a few bars that run some shuttles to the stadium, but it still takes so damn long. And then you have to make sure you get back on the right bus after the game on time so you're not stuck out there.
As the crow flies maybe you are right. If you go as the human goes, the Dutchess comparison is much more relevant.
Yankee Stadium to Poughkeepsie is 90 minutes.
Grant Park to Bridgeview at 6 PM can easily be 90 minutes.

If their stadium is announced and we have no plans whatsoever, I hope the fan-base openly revolts against the FO.
Now they are involved with my alma mater. Loving it even more.
It would be a massive issue for MLS if that happened.
