I don't know if this has been raised or not, but the dropping of Blitzkrieg Bop may be due to nothing more than the team might have to pay a fee for its usage and they just don't want to be bothered doing it.

They have to pay a fee for anything they play. They pay performance rights licenses which are basically flat fees. So El Alfa New York Groove and Blitzkrieg Bop are covered under flat payments to their respective societies. Also it’s based on the venue not the team so these fees are undoubtedly covered by the Mets and the Yankees as part of the rental, which have to pay all the societies to cover walk up music alone.

There really is no reason to ever play a song that isn't from a Queens born and or based artist. A partial list of such:
  • The Ramones
  • Nas
  • 50 Cent
  • KISS
  • LL Cool J
  • Nicki Minaj
  • Run DMC
  • Louis Armstrong
  • Jennifer Lopez
  • Cardi B
Can we not satisfy every interest group with this list?
Tony Bennet is from Astoria.
Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzie Gillespie, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Fats Waller, and Charlie Mingus all lived in Queens as adults.
Simon and Garfunkel
Cyndi Lauper
A Tribe Called Quest
Salt'n'Pepa
ETA: They Might be Giants were based in Brooklyn but filmed a cool video lat the New York State pavilion less than a mile from the stadium site:

Mobb Deep. Queens Up Hectic would be a great Anthem if every other word wasn’t explicit!

Hey folks, first time posting.

I'm not sure if there is a pinned post somewhere regarding the quoted prices for Etihad Park season tickets, but I just got off the phone with Nich and I learned a lot about the West and East Sideline premium options that I don't think have been discussed here yet.

Quoted message: "The West Club options offer all-inclusive member benefits + amenities while the East Club offers a great seat location without all the inclusive benefits + amenities included in the upfront cost."

West starts @ $6k and encompasses the entire West Stand, East starts @ $3k, encompassing the lower bowl, middle ~5/7ths of the East Stand. I wrote down some additional notes and info, but overall pretty insightful. Happy to provide some more details if anyone is curious or if this is all completely new info. I.e - I learned these are the only seats in the stadium that are 21" and cushioned, rest are 19" hard plastic.

Apologies if I'm repeating already mentioned info 😅. I was surprised to find out all the premium seating options sold out in 2 months, $15k+.

Also, attaching an additional diagram.

The fact that it’s $3,000 just for the seat. You get to pay extra for the parking and the food. Crazy.

Welcome. We had some of that info but maybe not all and that sheet hasn't been shared, so thanks. Did Nich advise if these seats also require a multi-year commitment? The form to indicate interest in these seats strongly hinted as much.

Feel free to hang out and keep posting.

Thanks! And yes, I didn't screenshot the commitments but made a good mental note of the 2 options being provided at the moment. He showed me an example using a West Sideline membership - and implied the same financing options for East Sideline:

Minimum 3 year commitment, increasing @ 5% a year then a freeze. $6.1k -> $6.4k -> ~$6.7k for 2029.

There's also a 5 year commitment option w/ a 3% annual increase and then a freeze. Putting you at $6.9-$7k at 2031 IIRC.

I asked mostly about the cheapest options, and started focusing more on the East Side Membership. Sales seem to be progressing smoothly, West Sideline is ~70% sold if I recall correctly, and East Sideline is in early stages, with a total of 2000 seats in the section. He mentioned "the cheapest and most expensive options going more quickly (~$3k and ~$7k). He explicitly mentioned the market for middle range is less demanding by nature of consumer habits (less folks who want a marginally better view for a notable price difference, ie ~4.5k range). The aforementioned discussion post I linked hits the nail on the head in regards to the algorithms being used for this imo.

With that being said, if anyone is interested - perhaps looking now is a good move. I won't be getting either, but maybe one day I can aspire to have some cushioned seating for my partner and I haha. My personal opinion is that there's going to be a lot of hype for this now and in the next year or 2, so I find the inflation-esque annual raise for this early of a commitment a bit disappointing. Then again, if we sign someone like Mbappe/Haaland in the next 5 years, those folks may make out well.

For me, I became a member in 2023, when the new stadium was announced. Nich implied I'm around the middle of the pack in terms of priority; lots of growth last year, and a good amount the year prior. From the demo viewing he showed me; it's really hard to find a seat in this stadium with a bad sightline. So if you're higher up the pecking order, waiting for a GA season ticket is probably a good move, you can get a solid seat under $2k and also just buy/trade into the East Sideline seats and enjoy those benefits as well. It seems like outside of these premium options, GA seats are much less algorithmic.

I meant to edit the above, and now I can't seem to delete this new comment - but I wanted to also mention that the financing option I was shown is a 10% annual down payment, with the rest being paid in monthly installments. I'm not sure how others pay, but I've always done quarterly and that didn't seem to be an option at this phase if that matters, YMMV.

I think someone mentioned needing climate controlled spaces, I don't think you're going to have that guaranteed at less than $3,050 a seat as of today, going forward.

Oh and for East Sideline, 85% of seats are reserved for season ticket members, 10% has been allocated for public sales, and 5% is reserved for all* members to purchase at a discount (don't remember the exact detail, but I think all members, and not just East Sideline members. The examples used were if you wanted to buy an additional ticket(s) for friends/families. The concern here being that Nich mentioned you likely won't be sat together, so you would have to reach out to your rep to potentially get rearranged. Historically, I've had zero issues moving about within the same section my tix were in, but I feel like capacity early days will be tight so keep in mind that may not be doable).

$3,000/18 is $165 per game. For comparison's sake, the cheaper midfield seats at Yankee Stadium (out in right field behind the benches) are $85 for the home opener and $68 for a midweek game in April.

Make of that information what you will, but this is a significant markup from what those fans are currently paying. Maybe as much as two or three times.

If they are doing it based off 20 home games (1 Leagues Cup, 1 USOC, 1 playoff game), that per game cost shrinks to $150.

Sight lines be damned. I’d rather stay at YS and CF than on the couch cause I can’t afford EP.
