Third Rail Membership 4 Fan In South?

So I'm trying to become a pretty devoted fan even though I live in Texas, and I was wondering if joining The Third Rail was a good idea. Its don't mind paying the $30 at all, but does it matter if I dont live in NY to go to the events and stuff?
