Considering the Spanish and Italian Super Cups are being played right now, it's interesting the MLS/USOpen Cup do not have a Super Cup to kick off each new Season. And obviously if a Canadian team wins the League, it'd go to the highest rated American team.

I think we don't have one because MLS is also Canadian based. And it's going to be a preseason game, it's not going to get television coverage and it's probably not worth it for the teams or players for the travel.

I dont see why you can't schedule it as the first game of the MLS season. If a non MLS team wins the open cup have it as the last game of the preseason. If a Canadian team wins the mls cup go with the highest American team in the shield standings.

Would love to see a Super Cup match to kickoff the season. Why not call it something like the CanAm Super Cup to cover the base of a Canadian team winning the MLS?

More like AmeriCan SuperCup...but that would be the winner of the Canadian Championship and US Open Cup...

But a Canadian team has never won MLS Cup so let's address the problem when we get there.
