In the game against Algeria we could barely keep possession. Lots of hoofing it up front and playing an overly forward, athletic playing style. Not a lot of great touches, not many successful passes, nothing really of note from a skill perspective.
Little to no faith until the old guard is gone. Jozy and Bradley should have passed the torch years ago. Zardes doesn’t belong on the international team.
But the issue is there is nobody behind the older generation who is any good. The 21 and under crowd is potentially terrific, but they are just reaching the point where they can play.
McKennie should be ready for the Bradley role. Sargeant isn't ready to take over for Altidore and Zardes should not be a part of the USMNT anymore. In a couple years I hope that Sebastian Soto could take over for the striker role but we've been burned so many times by promising young players that I'm not getting my hopes up.
There’s no logic in playing players today that won’t be able to play in the next World Cup. Those guys are old and washed up. Play the young kids getting minutes in Europe and at home. Reyna should be in our lineup. Sands even. What are we waiting for?
Well, Reyna was getting called up if we had played in March.
You think Pirlo seeing the game in the US had any role in him signing Mckennie?
