If they know we are going to attack then they don't have to worry about us bunkering and counter attacking. That makes us more predictable. Why?
Don’t play negative soccer. There you go.
Claudio's employment has nothing to do with Gio or vice versa.
If Claudio went to run US Soccer tomorrow it would have no affect on Gio's future.
Ok, fair enough. You do have some sort of inside info so I’ll take your word on it.Claudio's employment has nothing to do with Gio or vice versa.

I wouldn't say I'm Reyna's biggest fan, but there's no doubting that he's overseen three years of definitive progress over the team, that's seen us become the second best team in the league, with clear and obvious room to improve next season through our vacant DP spot.
Before anyone tries to crucify me, there have been undeniable fuck-ups - the roster in our first season was horrendous, our DP usage has been inefficient at best in our third season. But regardless, under Reyna we've brought in cornerstone players like Ring, Herrera, Chanot and Mata who have taken us to second place in the league overall. I'm not happy with our one game in the playoffs this year, but I'm extremely happy with the 32 games prior to that, and for that reason I'm bullish on both Vieira and Reyna.
If you think management decisions should be based on the three playoff games we've played in our history to date (or on the 15 year-old prospects that the GM happens to be related to) then OK. Clearly you value different things than I do. Seems a bit kneejerk to me, but that's your prerogative. To me, long-term, this team looks to be trending the right way. I'd be loath to shake things up while the graph keeps pointing upwards. To me, this project is more than just 180 minutes against Columbus Crew, or some 15 year-old kid who happens to be the GM's son. I've watched this team progress week on week, and I don't want us to throw the baby out with the bathwater because some of our fans are too used to cherry-picking EPL glory-hunting every Saturday morning to comprehend a team that doesn't waltz to victory every week.
This shit is hard. We're in it for the long haul. Man the fuck up before you start whining about the management.
I guess your line of thinking would work if we could stockpile great players, if we could have more than 3 players making that much and hadn't already wasted one of them. Do you think it was a good use of a DP slot to sign a guy, play him out of position for a year, such that we only had 1 of our 3 DPs playing full time and well in his best position, and our window to win with that DP is closing, and our second, third, and fourth scoring threats were below par for playoff teams? Because that's the argument on the table. Or challenge any of the elements I added. Tell me Villa's window isn't closing or the lack of quality scorers behind him did not matter, or whatever.I guess that line of thinking working if you would like to assess blame. If you want to assess the value a player and their future place on the team, you would 100% consider whether they have an increased value at another position.
What if he didn't go to run US Soccer but were fired? That's a no agenda question. I don't pretend to know on this one.Claudio's employment has nothing to do with Gio or vice versa.
If Claudio went to run US Soccer tomorrow it would have no affect on Gio's future.
I'm sure this is true to a large extent. But I have a feeling that little Gio wouldn't feel as much pressure to play for NYCFC and instead go overseas if his father wasn't still employed at NYCFC.Claudio's employment has nothing to do with Gio or vice versa.

And when I talk about feeling pressure, I don't necessarily mean pressure that Claudio is putting on, but perhaps that Gio is putting on himself.
Despite the salt from our friend across Stanley Park, here, I decided to take a look at Transfermarkt to see if there actually are any members of the Everton squad who would make good DPs after relegation.
I might take Aaron Lennon, who's theoretical market value is 5M euro. He's been often disappointing, but he's probably faster than most of our squad.
James McCarthy is probably too expensive (15M euro), but I'm sure he'd be useful if not particularly exciting. He's only 26, though, so I'm sure he'd rather stay in Europe in some manner, even in the Championship or a lower-table Prem team.
Shani Tarashaj might benefit from coming "down" to MLS for a while. He's valued at 2M euro and would probably be a significant upgrade on Sean Okoli at the secondary striker position.
Regarding Besic, I'm honestly not sure he's much better than Alexander Ring.
I'd take Nikola Vlasic, I think, although I need to see more of him in better circumstances.
I'd take Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, though I'm sure they'd get better offers.
Oh, I know. I was just dreaming...Vlasic and Davies and DCL aren't going anywhere.
As a 10? Nah. He's bottom third.
Maxi is a great 8, he’s a shitty 10.
