White Supremacists In Supporter Section

I know the difference, but a majority don't. So when Yahoo starts cleverly using the phrasing "right wing" without FAR or EXTREMISTS it is irresponsible. It makes people associate neo-nazis in YS as a right wing issue. That is what I said in my other post. So everyone disagreeing with me must think it's ok to associate the right wing as nazis. Same as saying all Muslims are terrorists. The hypocrisy in this forum is palpable. You all keep preaching tolerance through intolerance.
did we read the same article? it literally says this in the sub-title:

With the start of the new season, fans want to know what the team will do about the far-right extremists in their midst.

Then at the end of the first paragraph:

far-right extremists, skinheads and outright white nationalists.

Whose fault is it when people don't read past the headline?

My problem is this wording. It's irresponsible. I'm tired of leftist media cleverly calling me a racist because I lean right. Why is that ok? Why can a whole group be consistently attacked because of differing political beliefs? Tell me why it's acceptable? Because I'm a white conservative and have to take it? I don't get it.

I never once condoned any extremism. It shouldn't be tolerated at a game left or right. My problem is as this continues to have legs, right wing politics is going to get associated with it.

Yeah, the frustrating thing about all of this is that I still don't get what these guys are about, and no one's talking to the evidence.

To me talking about banning and all this doxxing / guilt by association is mostly noise.

Here is a definition of a slippery slope argument, you tell me if it fits:
You said that if we allow A to happen, then Z will eventually happen too, therefore A should not happen.
The problem with this reasoning is that it avoids engaging with the issue at hand, and instead shifts attention to extreme hypotheticals. Because no proof is presented to show that such extreme hypotheticals will in fact occur, this fallacy has the form of an appeal to emotion fallacy by leveraging fear. In effect the argument at hand is unfairly tainted by unsubstantiated conjecture.

The straw man is moderate in this argument, but it is the most popular form of crap arguing on this board and has been done in this thread over and over and over again by a small number of posters:

You misrepresented someone's argument to make it easier to attack.
By exaggerating, misrepresenting, or just completely fabricating someone's argument, it's much easier to present your own position as being reasonable, but this kind of dishonesty serves to undermine honest rational debate.

You can not have a reasonable back and forth with someone who does this in real life -- it's even harder on a message board when you can't respond in real time.

We have had so many reasonable arguments on here where rational people express different opinions (especially in the stadium thread) that it's a waste of time to try and engage bad faith arguers.
How’s this for a slippery slope argument:
If we allow these “nazis” to remain in the SS, they will harm others around them (given that is what we are afraid of, correct?)

no one is getting banned until something actually happens. honestly i dont think they are are stupid enough to actually do something inside the stadium, unless someone actually wants to start a fight with them.

Right-wing is, in this instance, not talking about rank-and-file Republicans. It's perhaps a sloppy shorthand, but as a very strong Democrat, I read it to mean extremists, not rank-and-file Republicans like you.

I don't think any reasonable person believes rank-and-file Republicans are blanket racists. I do believe there is a a rather significant fringe of the Republican party that is racist, but not the rank and file.

Eh I dunno. I think there is a strain of ideological purity in some parts of the left wing whereby anything that is even a millimeter to the right of that perspective is morally compromised. I understand where NickA NickA might be coming from, and this is coming from somebody who identifies as pretty strongly left wing too.

Nick, I see your point and I am a moderate republican who "leans a little to the right" of the political spectrum, however I have recently changed my voter registration to be independent. Extremist and Alt-right are openly welcomed in the political party I was affiliated with and I have no interest in being associated with that. Mama always taught me, you are associated with the friends you keep. Same could be said about the left with their extremists.

By the right wing not denouncing the far right and there hateful extremist views, they are allowing people to associate them as one. You are the friends you keep.

This philosophy can apply to NYCFC and NYC SC. Expel those individuals or you are them by association.

This may be getting too political, but here it goes: to allude to so-called extremism in both the political left and the political right, at least as it applies to the US and domestic policy is a facile false equivalence because the right-wing extremists both support blatant discrimination and have congressional representation (Steve King, for one) whereas the left wing "extremists" support what? Universal health care, 75% tax on income over 10M, Green New Deal? You may disagree on policy but they are obviously not discriminatory policies. Finally, lets also point out that right/left categories are all relative, and mainstream Democrats would be considered center-right on most parts of the world.

Get this post out of my whataboutism to normalize fascist and neo nazi ideology.
