MLS Cup Playoffs - November 30 - New England (Away)

after those penalties....my thought was

Losing those four shootouts to win this one is a trade I will make every time.

I told my kid after Taty's first yellow in the 18th minute that he had to watch himself because he gets a lot of yellows. He's also not the kind of guy we can take off the field - at least not while we are hunting for a goal. Not a lot of players in this league score that header he did in AET.

This was my take in the 2021 season thread. I was pessimistic about the trend reversing itself, which it certainly did.

Given how things rolled out with Kreis, I think it's likely that Ronny will get to finish the season.

Given how things are going right now, I think it's very unlikely that he does enough to remain employed once the season ends.

They had nobody else to write about last night.

Reading the Reddit post match thread. Lots of complaints about the bye leading to a 23 day layoff which is a huge a detriment rather then a reward for winning your conference/supporters shield. That’s valid and honestly needs to be looked at. BUT it does bother me that we played the Revs three times this year and pushed them to the limit each time (minus most of the away fixture). We had their number. No one mentions that. Maybe their was some rust, but it’s not unprecedented for us to out play them. Put some respect on our name!!!

Still buzzing! Can’t wait for Sunday! Hoping for the best!!!

I'm envious of those of you who went up to Foxboro. I had a late day work engagement that got canceled at the last minute. Additionally, I booked a trip home in the South for the next two weekends when we couldn't buy a goal a couple months ago. D'oh!

I've been a Ronny hater (hence my booked trip), but he got it right last night. I was impressed by how we managed to control the game and frustrate Buchanan and the other Revs players. I thought at times we gave Gil a little too much space, but we didn't get burned. Santi was quite good last night. Gray has come a long way, and I'm very proud of him. Taty wasn't much of a threat for a good part of the match, but he was able to strike when needed. Just wish he hadn't had that bonehead tackle at the end. Also, can we celebrate the fact that we just beat the best team in the league with Tony Rocha out there for a significant stretch of minutes? Malte was also good out there, and Gudi lulled them to sleep before making that dagger pass to Taty for the second goal.

Very impressed with how we took penalties. I had my shirt over my head for Maxi's penalty.

If we can play like that, we can beat Philly without Taty. It's gonna come down to Medina and Isi showing up. I don't see Héber making too much of an impact if any. He's just not back up to fitness.

I hope the club does a few things to make it easy for folks to get down to Chester. Have fun. I'll be watching from many miles away.

I saw that too, and had the same reaction. It's both fair, and kind of off point. There also was a bit of clamor for the 2-leg fixture. Who knows how that would play out, but I don't see it helping NE all that much. We would have been home in Game 1. That game never could have gone to extra time, which means no second yellow for Taty to keep him out of game 2, and as it was, we scored 2 away goals. I cannot assume we do worse at home than at Gillette.
