didnt they also say Hart was on his way here too a year ago.
Anyone that went to the very first club event with Ferran and Claudio did, mainly because they told us to.
Of course, we all should have figured it out during Lampardgate, but alas, the vast majority of us fell guilty to forgetting or forgiving or just being lackadaisical about it.

Those are the main objectives for NYCFC, I can accept that. But where do they sit within the global / CFG hierarchy of objectives?
I also think our ability to execute on both of these objectives is capped by the profile of the league. Hence, why I think they are content to let other clubs invest and grow the profile of the league. That doesn't necessarily mean "a toxic afterthought setting records in futility every year in MLS", but achieving these objectives doesn't necessarily require "blazing a trail of glory setting records in spending and success every year in MLS" either. Or even being anything other than an "early adopter" (rather than an "innovator").
Is that the end of the world? No, but in general we tend to view the world through false or exaggerated dichotomies. And we tend to view the way others view the world through even more exaggerated dichotomies. Hence a fan base at war with itself right now.
Of course this is 95% speculation, because to be honest, the lack of transparency or clear, earnest, 2-way communication between the club / CFG and the fans leaves a massive vacuum for us all to fill based on our personal inclinations.

I can see him being one of those players who will never play on turf due to the fear of injury
Players today have it easy, I still remember the injuries/have the scars from red ash/blaes pitches
I read that the other day. One thing I would like to see delved more into there is whether there is a statistical difference in injuries for those players that normally play on grass, and then play on turf.
I could potentially see that being a concern. Their analysis is really good to demonstrate that injuries as a whole don't really vary from turf vs grass. But I could see it being possible that a guy who has played on grass his whole life being more susceptible to injuries on turf. That article doesn't parse that out.
I imagine there would be a difference in how turf affects a 24 year old American who has played on turf a ton his whole life, vs a European veteran.

When people injure themselves on grass, they say, "Damn!"
true, but i mean was the same done for lewis? for caldwell? shelton? harrison was kinda sorta in radar anyway. all it tells me is that no one in coaching staff scouts college kids.

Sturridge is likely to get a lengthy ban for his insider betting. Not sure if any ban will be international but I suspect it will be.
Dyer gets acres of space in The Athletic for an exclusive interview with Reyna on roster strategy and manages to tell us exactly nothing that we didn't already know.
Ah well. I do like this particular edition of Claudio Reyna's Resting Existential Angst Face though.
Blame Dyer or Reyna for the absence of new info?
Also, in this article Reyna does seem more slanted away from the big name signing than we have seen in other interviews. It's a matter of emphasis rather than a specific fact, but that was my take-away. Of course, even there, it's hard to tell if that's how Dyer wrote it or was Reyna actually tilted in that direction.
