Before I go in, there are no pictures right?
damn it, I clicked in and sure enough giant-ass cricket photo.
:/
That's why I have trouble also reading these sorts of articles.
People should know not to post pictures :|
Sorry. Cricket photo got added later and isn't really a part of the main thread. You can read the stuff above. It's a classic.

read until the part where he flushes the toilet and notices he didn't seal the box well enough lol

idk how anyone could deal with that. I'd be freaking the hell out and probably never enter that house ever again until an exterminator came lol

Hate crickets. Last year I only had one enter my room, this year so far in the past WEEK 5 have entered my room. I'm scared (or idk, some weird phobia of bugs which also applies to crickets) of them, and so I don't even want to open google and search for 'ways to figure out what's causing so many crickets to enter my room' because I know that all the articles will have photos of crickets. Anyone have any recommendations? Currently using one glue trap towards the side of my room, but I don't even know why or how they're entering my room. For context, my room used to be the garage - but I don't know where they are coming from. Ventilation? Under my door? cracks in the wall? I don't know.

"According to some interpretations of Leviticus, crickets are kosher."

I see the Red Bulls alcohol truck around the city way too often. It pissed the hell out of me.

I
FUCKING
HATE
CRICKETS.
Just smushed one with my legs in the dark while half asleep, freaked out, and ran out of the room. It was exploring my foot and it felt itchy, so... I itched... And then wetness ensued. No noise, nothing. Just crunch, wet.
I really can't do this anymore.

I like you too much to respond with any of the many cracks that popped into my head as I read this. With that said, I did think of you the other night when one of my kids ran upstairs to report a cricket in the basement and refused to go back down until I removed it.

I know, it's 'childish' but I'm not sure what to do at this point, because I've tried so hard to work on this fear and it just... doesn't go away.

My daughter is afraid of butterflies. It started when she was little; now she's a college sophomore and it has not diminished. We'll be walking down the street and suddenly she'll let out a yelp and run 10-20 yards because there is a butterfly in the vicinity.
Butterflies are generally deemed the least scary or icky of bugs, so I suppose a cricket fear is less embarrassing than that.

I'm not sure if this helps or not.

See, I used to have that too, even with butterflies and moths. I used to do the yelp/run, but I forced myself to stop that with butterflies. Moths not as much. For some reason, when it comes to crickets, specifically crickets, I just can't do it, no matter what I've tried. Spiders I can kill generally, because they're slower. I'm debating maybe going to some sort of therapy, as when I was younger that helped with other fears I had.

This fear of butterflies is what Makes me afraid. I took my daughter and niece to a butterfly conservatory this summer and it seemed like 1/3 of the kids there were scared of the butterflies. Never in my life had I seen this before and my first thought was, “Our society has fucked up big time. People are so out of touch with nature that now a high percentage of kids are even afraid of the most non threatening form of life on the planet.”
Is it the phones and tablets kids are burying there heads in? WTF.
