Agree with this. We don't know what is going to be involved in properly anchoring it, and that may be something that does not lend itself to easy removal. Anchoring those nets is tricky in a park as open as modern ballparks can be. Take a look at what it takes just for the existing netting. Plus, remember that this kind of netting almost certainly wasn't a consideration when they built the place.

Newly minted, about a few weeks ago.
I would imagine the netting will angle down so the farther away from home plate, the closer it is to the top of the field’s wall. Anybody know how far they plan to extend it? Past the dugouts? I saw online some images proposed by the Nationals and another club (I think they were NY Daily News pics) and the nets didn’t look like they went past the dugouts - maybe that was simply the paper guessing but who knows?
Very possible for it to extend to the first base side goal. And here the Yankees will say it will protect fans from shots during warm ups and during the game....
I was at the stadium last night. If they stop the netting at the end of the dugout, I don't think it would be too bad. It would limit it to near the soccer sideline on the 1st base side and keep it from going too far up the sideline on the 3rd base side.
Immediately next to the dugouts are similar, depressed areas for cameras. If the netting goes that far, then it would be more of an issue - at least for those who find the nets bothersome, and I doubt that would be true for everybody.
The current structure of the nets involves a long cable that runs around the stadium from the outfield on the 3rd base side to the outfield on the first base side, and it is anchored at each point. It is held up by several cables that run from the press box over the home base seats. The netting runs down off the long cable and is anchored at ground level.
Remember that the netting has to be very tight so that it can hold a sharply hit ball without stretching enough that the ball hits someone anyway. The whole system has a lot of tension in it.
The old home base netting is very high. The new netting that runs from that to the dugout is much lower and is held up by cables that run from the top of the netting to the long cable.
If the new netting is installed the same way, I have to think it could be raised and lowered, but it's hard to know for sure. Given all the tension in the system, it may be difficult or place stress on the parts.

in the bleachers theres been a few accidents with warm ups....i think it was t mac once and other time was Awuah
as for the netting....isint this affecting the most distanst seats to the field? i mean its in the pricey area so i dont know exactly
if they can do netting stay up there permanently......then can we use that same pulley system for our tifo's on the other side?
I'm looking to relocate ...does anyone know row the covering goes up to in 234/233B/233A?
Not sure about the corner but along the third base line in the mid-220s you're under the upper deck in about row 12 (might be row 10 but I'm not 100% sure of that).
I think it's around row 16 or 17 in section 233B
Thinking about relocating as well. This year I'm in 233B and every time I used the trade-in program and tried to get 4 seats together they forced me to upgrade my seats to a higher category ticket. Just got off the phone with a ticket rep and they told me that they won't be doing that anymore. If you're in category 6 like me, they'll find tickets together in the same category. So now I'm thinking about upgrading to section 110, which I sat in this year for one game. Any thoughts? How's resale in this section if I can't make it to a game?
