2019 Forums H2H League & Pigeon Cup

The Spring Season of 2019 Forums H2H League is in the books and beers before our first home playoff game this fall are on me.

dummyrun and I were so close only 1 goal in the 15 weeks separated us. 9 out of our 11 point scorers were the same this week (if anyone was following our back and forth last week, I did put Zlatan in my lineup at the end). Third Place was close too with FredMertz and mgarbowski tied with 24 points and Alex P Keaton Parks finishing in the money with the tiebreaker. A special shout out to mgarbowski for leading the league in points against which you can't control and is a measure of how unlucky you are in the H2H league.

I will keep everyone up to date on the Fall Season (week 16) when I know more and the Pigeon Cup will resume week 17

A special shout out to mgarbowski for leading the league in points against which you can't control and is a measure of how unlucky you are in the H2H league.

Oddly enough, though I had the most points scored against me, I was still "lucky" in that I finished 1 place higher than a pure Points For standings would have yielded. I'm just happy to end the season on a 6-2-0 run after starting a mostly deserved 2-5-0 based on very low points, which also killed my budget for the rest of the Spring season.

Much like its namesake, my team came into the season looking promising but hasn't lived up to its potential. Good game.

All 8 of us are automatically in the Fall league, but that's a good point.

If anyone else wants to join this league for the 2nd half of the season we are open -- but its head-to-head so we can only increase the size by 2 players at a time.

I didn't captain Zlatan but had him on my team. When I saw that LAG was up 2-0 almost immediately I thought I would regret it, and also figured they were off to the races. Wrong on both counts, but it worked out for me giving the C to Valeri.

My budget after one week is 101.7. Based on some self-reporting on Twitter, I already seem to be behind the most successful by more than $2, and definitely below average (though the people who replied are undoubtedly serious players).
I hate the way they run the price changes. I have no idea how it works, but I hate it.

Rule of thumb: pick cheap defenders early for the price rises (and budget savings). But yeah the system sucks.
