Oh wow, thanks. I saw that I had a great week, but didn't really check to see how that fared across all MLS Fantasy, haha.

Edit: Just looked at the guy who scored 2 more points than me. He had Maxi on his team, and no other NYCFC players. I did not have Maxi, but had Callens. If Maxi doesn't do whatever he was thinking on the Niko goal, Maxi gets one more point for defending bonus on a clean sheet and Callens gets 5 more and I finish 1st overall. Rigged!!!
Sabo just wentin my face last night with the captained Rubio 2nd half sub.
And that's how my miracle end of season run to the top of the table dies. Good luck Sabo & Jason. Should be an exciting final 2 weeks.

If it makes you feel any better my focus was on the Empire of Soccer HTH. Quarterfinals. Winner of the league gets a trip for 2 to the MLS Cup. I am up 1 point going into the game, see that Rubio isn't starting and Sinovic suddenly lost 2 points from the mid-week game putting me down a point. Wound up losing by 2 points. Its been that kind of soccer week.
Im in no man's land so not 100% focused anymore, so i decided to get cute and cap melia thinking surely if they are going to get two cleanies he'd stand to benefit...... and yah that blew up in my face.
speaking of losing focus, next year can we find more people willing to shell out $75 who quit playing around week 5 and uh extend the payout to 6th place. I mean in the real world thats a playoff spot, surely whoever ends there deserves a buck or two yeah?

But honestly, whatever to continue to keep people engaged much longer even if their season isn't going particularly well.

The Pigeon Cup should help with that. Next year we can make sure it is scheduled early. No matter how a league is set up you are always going to have teams with nothing to play for the last few weeks of the season.I like that considering I'm currently 1 point out of 6th

Now that we are both out of contention, I'm curious why you captained Villa and did you have a macro strategy for player selection?
For example, I first focus on favorable home match-ups and Portland is/was in the heated western conference race so that's why I captained Valeri.
That was a planned switcheroo. I knew Lima wouldn't play because he was hurt so he started. Toronto played first and I had Hasler as the first autosub. Toronto got the shutout so that was 7 points in the bank with the autosub. If Hasler didn't have a good game I had Joevin Jones on the bench and would have manually subbed him for Lima before the SJ and Seattle games started.
With the points tiebreaker in hand it looks like I am going to follow in Jack's able footsteps.
I had a good season and really wanted those sweet boots Dan put up as a prize to wear while I can still 'play' (or whatever you call what I was doing last night), but I am 5th in the NYCFC Forums league while running 3rd in the overall Fans of NYCFC. If he is willing to put up prizes again next year we really should limit the free NYCFC Forums league to posters so that fans of other teams aren't winning all the prizes.

Short answer to your question is yes.
You can either use autosubs or you can use manual subs but not both. If you use manual subs you can only sub a player on your bench whose game has not started for a player in your starting lineup whose game has not started.
I basically look at Rotowire for their top picks per position and build a lineup around opponents and strategy.
As for captain, Valeri obviously had the better matchup at home against a terrible team. I did not factor in New England's home form, Moralez being absent, and Villa's continually poor fantasy performances. I'm just blinded by my love for the team and Villa. All the blame on me. And Saghafi for giving Harrison a red card.

I know that everyone hates bad beat stories, but, man, I just gave away my share of first place this week. I had my team set for days as usual. A few minutes before lineups locked, my 5 year old was hysterical about something and my wife couldn't calm him down. The only thing that worked was my offering him to help me finalize my fantasy team (I was planning on checking it anyway just to confirm that players were starting etc.) He always loves looking at my team, but I never change it, even when he complains that I don't have enough (or any) NYCFC players. As usual, he complained about the lack of NYCFC players (this time over his tears) and told me to put in Villa or Jack. For some reason, given the moment and the circumstances, I complied and told him that I would add Villa (I rationalized that it wasn't the worst idea, even though I had no interest in playing him this week). The easiest quick fix with time running out was Villa for Lodeiro because their salaries matched, so I made the move. And I was certain, that it was going to somehow end up being the difference. Yup, I lost by 4 (I believe) and the difference between Villa and Lodeiro was 5 (I believe). I guess I took one for the fam here. Oh well. Congrats to the champ.
So with 1 week left, 1st and 2nd place are already secured.
1st. Sabo has a 100+ point differential over 2nd.
I'm guessing the tiebreakers is wins then total points (similar to MLS).
2nd. JayH. I could tie with points, but I could not makeup the number of wins.
3rd. Fight between me and Jack. I have a one point lead so I'm just like NYCFC this week.
It would make me feel better if there were a points tiebreaker as I wouldn't have shared first in any event.
