Wait, so you guys are saying NYCFC could have a player sign a contract with CFG instead of MLS. Do you think they would announce it as if they signed with MLS/NYCFC? Nah, that’s crazy talk.
Also, since we’re delving into Lampardgate territory, it brings up that FIFA rule that a player can sign with 3 different teams over 1 season. But only play for 2 in that same season.

Lol. I also didn't intend to go this far down this rabbit hole. Mainly just wanted to point out that it's possible the timing could be somewhat advantageous for a signing or two while Visas are worked out. They way I read it is eligible to play. So training should be fine. If an attorney wants to take a stab at it, I only slept at a Holiday Inn last night.
A couple more grey boxes so I figured I'd post an update.
Also, I know how this place loves more fodder for pessimism ...
Only counts when signed, right? Last week’s draft pick is probably still negotiatingI’ll nitpick at trivialities becuase there’s little else going on. Shelton was a draft pick, so wrong color. And speaking of the drafts, what about Awuah, Caldwell, and the kid we pissed away $75k GAM for last week?

Looking at this chart gives some reason for optimism arguably our two best non-DP free agent signings in club history are Ring and Callens both of whom hadn't been signed by this point in 2017. Although I do feel like we had rumblings of rumors about both by this time in 2017. Last years best signing was ITS which happened around now so maybe we will get some news soon. Trying to be optimistic for a change.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure how meaningful this will be as I suspect it will be 95% just a big clump every year around the date the club makes decisions on roster releases. I think my next step will be to add a part two of the chart with during season signings.I love this.
I know it probably would be harder logistically but could you make a similar one with outgoing players as well? Would be interesting to see dates of transfers, release, etc. of players leaving over the years. (And whether said player got a "Thank you" video or not indicated by like a * or something similar)
Thanks. Added Caldwell and Awuah. Will look into trying to figure out when training camp opened every year.I’ll nitpick at trivialities becuase there’s little else going on. He indeed changed agents to Wasserman. I believe it was a couple of months ago.I don't know whether this is a good or bad sign, but Keaton Parks, who had a Portuguese agent in June, recently started following on Twitter and was followed by Richard Motzkin of the major LA-based agency Wasserman.
Motzkin was Jason Kreis's agent at the time that NYCFC hired him so I figure he owes us one.
