the thing is MLB playoffs are actually in neutral venues from the second round( Division series) and on and they all in the west coast. so technically after first round YS is free to be used even if yankees go all the way.
Tight schedule ahead. Lack of rotations this far is going to kill us during this stretch. I see injuries coming.. and poor performances from exhaustion.
MLS Reveals Remainder of 2020 Regular-Season Schedule
Teams will conclude the regular season after a 23-game campaign, with an expanded playoff bracket to follow en route to MLS Cup.

In our remaining games (last 2 games of Phase 2 and all of Phase 3), we will play
- 6 home & 5 away
- 1-2 “home” games against teams also using that stadium as home
- 6 games against teams in the top half of the East
- 5 games against teams in the bottom half of the East
- overall, no games this season against Atlanta or Nashville
- 3 games against Columbus & New England
We're playing 3 matches that as of September 22 are on the NY Department of Health restricted state list.

Ohio - Columbus
All games are scheduled to be televised live on YES Network (subject to change based on New York Yankees playoff TV schedule). Additionally, games will be streamed on radio in English and Spanish at www.nycfc.com/radio.
Major League Baseball recently announced that all playoff games played after the Wild Card Series (September 29 – October 2) will take place at neutral sites. With the exception of the Hudson River Derby venue being TBD, all NYCFC home games are currently scheduled to be played at Red Bull Arena. The Club, in partnership with the New York Yankees and MLS, are exploring options to host both regular season and playoff matches at Yankee Stadium.
The way I read this, it's possible we play more than just the Hudson River Derby at Yankee Stadium. Still, we won't be likely to attend.
I wonder if we could go to the Toronto match. Connecticut is allowing fans.

Granted, stadiums and schedules are in flux, but the final totals for the season will be 9 home games, 3 neutral site games, and 11 road games. One would think MLS could have balanced that better for the teams that started the pre-pandemic season with two road games.
I wonder if we could go to the Toronto match. Connecticut is allowing fans.

I'm breaking radio silence to engage in my favorite pastime of counting things. AFAICT nobody else has noticed this seemingly basic discrepancy.
It appears that some teams are playing 23 games (eg, Montreal, NYCFC, Red Bulls) and other just 22 (eg Nashville, Seattle). I've triple checked and don't think I'm miscounting, nor do I see this explained anywhere. How will that work in a points based league?

Welcome back. I was wondering the same. Dallas-Nashville is one of their make-up games for missing the MLS Is Back tournament. Was Seattle-LAG part of the Jacob Blake (not George Floyd) boycott?

The baseball will be done no later than Oct. 1 -- they're going into a bubble after that first round. There seems to be virtually no reason NYCFC can't move back into Yankee Stadium as early as that Oct. 6 home game, and certainly by Oct. 11. I'll be interested to see if they end up moving those RBA games back to the Stadium.
They're yet to reschedule two games -- Nashville and Dallas from the MLS is Back Tournament, and that other game was protested and they need to find a spot to make it up.
Only reason I can think of for not moving it back would be cost. But we are NYC, so we should move back. Even if it costs more to rent out than RBA
Not defending the team's season ticket price debacle, but people always give the "even if it costs much more to rent than ____" excuse but then when they raise prices because, well, it costs much more to rent, they get annoyed.
I'm sure the team is gonna try to do what they can within the monetary possibilities.
i think thats the reason why they will stay in RBA. Possibly only derby and playoffs ( if we make it) can potentially be hosted at YS.
