Of the 17 MLS Regular Season matches in 2021, how many will be played at Yankee Stadium?

I don't think you will need PCR. Check the Yankees website.

To begin the season, attendance for select games will be limited to approximately 20% of the capacity of Yankee Stadium. Accordingly, we will be selling a limited number of tickets in specified temporary seating locations (“Ticket Pod(s)”) to select home games (“Limited Capacity Games”) in an effort to maintain New York State’s physical distancing requirements. Each fan in attendance will be required to take a PCR or rapid antigen COVID-19 test with negative results or provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination, as well as temperature checks on each game day in order to gain entry. More information will be posted shortly on COVID-19 testing and proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

If you call the testing centers when they close close, if they still have leftover doses they might tell you to come immediately and you can get a shot impromptu just like that, even without being eligible. You might want to try doing that

One of my friends did that with his local Walgreens in Manhattan and was able to get his first dose a few weeks ago.

For what its worth, MSG just announced that they will allow rapid testing -- and that they will do it on-site for $30. So that may be an option for us by the time we get to our first home game in a month.

So let’s say that NYCFC follows the Yankees lead and sells ticket pods like indicated in the list above.

I would assume that season ticket holders would get first opportunity to buy the “pods”. But how does that work with the season tickets that we have already paid for? I would assume it would be something like credit the value of your old seats for that game to the new seats you are buying in the “pods”.

now where it gets dicey is for season ticket holders that say “nah, I’m not buying.” What happens to the value of their tickets then? (Yes, I know “refund” has a zero percent chance of happening). You can’t really “force” season ticket holders to buy pod tickets because, well, covid and everyone’s health situation is different.

I don’t think I’d go through the hassle of the PCR tests (plus the risk of the virus) - would definitely attend though if I was vaccinated and took precautions (masks/etc.) No guarantee that is happening by April 24th.

i mentioned in other thread, my rep told me you get a credit for the games you dont go, so long as the game itself is limited capacity. however, its still not clear if those credits can be used for next years Season tickets for example.

I would love to have more clarification about this situation from the club. based on past experience the "you will get credit for the games you don't go" sounds like they are referring to their trade-in program. And if so, will these games count toward the maximum available trade-ins per season or will that maximum be waived for this season?

in any case, the club needs to address these issues in an announcement fairly soon. I imagine it'll be after MLS releases a full schedule.

yes i thought of this too, i asked specifically if i can use credits on next years season ticket and told me details still being worked on. so we have to wait and see. their announcement of the home opener did mention they will reveal season ticket details once mls season is officially announced.

according to twitter rumors again, its this week when its revealed.

lol some people are going to have paid for two seasons with little to no ticket access. What a mess

i mean in my case, technically its still one season (since no one was allowed to attend last year), its just that i paid for it almost two years years ago.

Right - either PCR or rapid test. Should be easy to get. Emphasis added above.

The good Dr. Mrs. Gotham recommended this to me last week. But also - see below.

There are lots of shots available this week from CVS if you go on the website.
Yep - the pharmacies are now open for a broader range of vaccinations. Used to just be those over a certain age and limited types of essential workers. Now, it is everybody who is eligible. I grabbed a first dose for Friday. I was informed by the aforementioned Mrs. Dr. Gotham.

Also, Dr. Mrs. Gotham says that the age for qualification will drop to 50 starting tomorrow. Go Team 50!

And I'm just sitting here, under 60 with no medical conditions unable to get the shot, just waiting for the schedule to be released and figuring out where I can go for a PCR test within 72 hours (expensive!) to attend a match in person.
You have to pay???? I tested 4 times since this started and never paid.

Yeah, to get a PCR test with quick turnaround in the city is expensive. I know some places charging up to $250 per test.
CVS pcr tests have been under 24-48 hours lately. Their rapid antigen tests, which are now acceptable for stadium entry, are 15 minutes, but generally need to be booked in advance 1-2 days. Either way you can gain entry to Yankee Stadium with a convenient trip to CVS for free.

i have to get a rapid in SLC on Wednesday. One place wanted $260. Found another for $99 that i went with. A friend who lives there said it’s free at the hospital but I’m not waiting all day for a test on vacation when $99 lets me drive through and get it done in a 15 min window.
