2025 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs

My yearning for an MLS Cup at Yankee Stadium knows no bounds. I want it so badly.

The whining in MLS circles as we sell out a 50,000 seat stadium would be so hilarious.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have to get past Philly first at their house. It's not gonna be easy. Especially with two starters out.

That being said, I'm looking forward to watching shore ball out like a veteran.

Seattle now dealing with the nightmare scenario I was scared of yesterday:

They are the only team to win a game in this series, but are now into penalties in Game 3 against MLS's goalie of the year.

And Seattle are out. They didn't lose a game in the series. Minnesota didn't win a game in the series.

Total nightmare scenario for a team that, I thought, was one of the best in MLS this season.

Minnesota wins PKs 7-6.
Winning PK scored by keeper Dayne St. Clair.
Minnesota wins when Seattle keeper Thomas raps his shot off the crossbar.
Wild.

Why is it a nightmare scenario? Minnesota are a good team as well. Seattle just have a pedigree of winning. Shootouts are toss ups. They didn't get it done in regulation. It is what it is.

Nightmare scenario for Seattle but what crazy pens. The Seattle player who sent the MNU keeper the wrong way and rolled it in the open side to only hit the post….stuff of nightmares.

They didn't lose a game in the series. It's hard to stomach getting eliminated when you are the only team to win a game in the series.

I take your point about the W/L discrepancy in the series, but Minnesota had 3 more points, 1 more win and a +7 goal differential advantage. Nine teams including us had more points than Seattle. Did they have a lot of injuries that suppressed their points? Because nothing about their record suggests they are league best tier. Honestly same is true for Minnesota and us and we’re definitely not among the league best. Pretty good tier.

Reminds me of Julian's penalty kick...

Champions Cup, FIFA World Cup, Leagues Cup champions ... their regular season was kind of a mirage due to all the extra games they had to play. I thought their roster was loaded, and their regular season started super slow because of the schedule congestion. Including postseason, they played 50 competitive games.
