High fever, really bad cough, and most importantly, trouble breathing (like lungs don't fill not that you're congested). Go to the er.
As I feel I know and respect the voices on this forum, I appreciate the responses. My biggest concerns arise from the fact that my 2 85+ year old in-laws live in my house. (Cue jokes about killing them off.) While I still consider it an abundance of caution - not an unwarranted abundance, but abundance nonetheless - I will likely skip our home games for the time being.
I’d be a lot more worried if I were in your shoes.
to expand on this - the town I work in is going to preemptively quarantine the nursing home in town. They won’t allow visitors for 6 weeks
The simple numbers are that the seasonal flu has a death rate of 0.1% vs. this coronavirus that has 3.4%. That's a morality rate increase of 3300%. We don't know how contiguous it will be, but that is not a reason to take to not take preemptive action.
Best case scenario we get to say thank god it wasn't worse. Worst case scenario we are talking about something like the 1918 flu which had a 2% mortality rate and killed tens of millions worldwide. Considering the mortality rate is way higher for coronavirus than the 1918 flu, there are 4 billion more people in the world, than in 1918, and the world is more globally connected- we are probably looking at a much bigger worst-case scenario.

We’ll never know because the federal government botched this so badly that they’re not testing anywhere near enough suspect cases. To be truly accurate, there’d even need to go back and test any pneumonia-like deaths over the last two+ months. And that’s just us. The full data in China is probably lost forever with their coverup and denials.

It's a growing likelihood. At the very least, the club should generate some goodwill by offering refunds or exchanges to all ticketholders who don't feel comfortable. Add some additional portable hand washing stations throughout the concourses. If they are going to play the game anyway, they should still open to fans willing to go, but don't punish those who dont want to go.
Refunds would go a long way, but I don't think it will happen. It would be HUGE of the club to offer refunds but I guarantee, if asked, a rep will simply say "that's what the trade in program is for". Agree there should be hand sanitizer stations throughout the stadium concourse.
State has not mandated cancellation of events, such as sporting events and conferences but has advised elderly and those with compromised immune systems to stay away. If this continues to get worse, and it most definitely will, there will be a point where games will be played behind closed doors or cancelled completely.
I'd like to get to the home opener because I can imagine not being able to go to games for a while once this gets further along.

I’d expect we’re just days from all public events being canceled. New York State has issued a state of emergency. They have to to open up additional avenues of testing and procuring supplies.
The club should really think about refunds for games over the next X-months that this is an issue. STH showed good will with the payment system starting last August, so we’re now paid through half the season - considering it’s a Pandemic, the club should reciprocate the good will and do the right thing by offering full refunds.

Especially with New Rochelle, which is only about 10 miles from Yankee Stadium, being one of the bigger hot-spots on the east coast, if not the entire country (behind Seattle and California) ... this is in our backyard, so hard to imagine how we aren't impacted here more than in other parts of the country.
Yeah, Cuomo basically has told the feds to Fck off and get out of our way - he’s got the Lab in Albany going and declared a state of emergency. It’s got the potential to get nasty over the next few months, but I trust Cuomo to do right by all New Yorkers.
On the other hand, the Fck-Head-in-Chief can just Fck right off with his administration’s response and desire to keep the reported numbers down. Just read on CNN the CDC wanted to warn all elderly to not fly and the WH overruled it. That’s brilliant to ignore the experts.
San Jose reported 12,223 yesterday after that warning. Last week they reported 18,000. Some of that could be due to opening day falloff, but a decent number must be because of the outbreak and the warning. Last year they averaged 18k+ over the season.
Seattle reported 33,080 yesterday, off from 40,126. 40k is right around their average so they probably had a big drop as well, though proportionally less than San Jose. And none of these numbers capture no shows, unless they suddenly changed league policy on reporting attendance.
