Dancers/cheerleaders

What are your thoughts? Do they belong in MLS? There are only a couple of teams now with them as others have disbanded their groups. However, some like FCK in Europe have added them back after a few years without. http://www.fck.dk/fanzone/fans/copenhagen_white_cats/#!
Mexico pretty much has them as standard.

Would you want them for NYCFC for community outreach, SG help and HT entertainment?

There's a lot of people who get butthurt when people talk about being PC and this thread is going to drive the ANTI-PC folks in droves...fuck it.

I'm not into cheerleaders because of the whole 'objectifying women' thing. Also, there is the fact that cheerleaders are paid shit:

I don't feel it adds ANYTHING to the team, the league, the sport...anything. It's just a way for a bunch of guys to get their rocks off.

Good thoughts. I don't know what they add at the stadium in soccer, but I thought the Brooklynettes did a good job in European marketing, community involvement and at corporate sponsorship events for Brooklyn. Not sure want their wages look like either, but NYC could be an interesting market for them....beyond the ole objectifying thing.

I have no bias either way...just wondering about the current appetite for them within our SG.

looks like the average NBA cheerleader makes about 50$ a game...some less, some more.

Cosmos girls *yawn*. Pretty much most guys who are cosmos fans don't seem to get laid often so it makes sense for them. We don't need no $&@#%+€ cheerleaders
