Which is why I'm annoyed and disappointed with Torrent, but I have vile nasty thoughts about PV, and about NYCFC and CFG management, for Vieira's dragged out 2- month departure saga, then not only leaving but taking his entire staff, and us not even getting compensation, and not having any path for Vieira to advance within CFG once they extended Pep's contract, and for all the BS happy talk about how this just helps us hire talent in the future. Plus, somebody -- Reyna, Soriano, hell maybe even Pep -- should have sat Dome down before he was hired and said "This is your first head coaching job in 2 damn decades and your first not in a B league. You're taking over a team playing the best ball in its history halfway through a season. Don't! Fucking! Break! It! Change is for the next year. Got it?!?!?!"

I don't think it's reasonable to ask a coach to not implement his stuff. That's an unreasonable request, and one that would have doomed him to fail.

Now, it seems painfully evident that Dome is having this roster do things it isn't capable of. His job is to get the most out of the players, and he's definitely not doing that. I would expect some changes this offseason, especially if Dome stays.

Maybe we can have 11 Amagats. Would only cost us $2.86mm for our staring 11.

IF he’s lost the locker room, especially anybody with a continuing contract and a starter, then Dome cannot stay under any circumstances. Disgruntled players aren’t going to give him another chance after destroying this season, and if the club keeps Dome around, with disgruntled players, it’s a recipe for another lost season.

MLS roster rules are equivalent to mega-priced players - it’s impossible to jettison the player while the manager is easily expendable. Happens all the time across various sports and leagues.

We hired Don Zimmer. Hell. Dome is lower ranked than Don Zimmer because Zim had a handful of Major League managerial jobs interspersed with his career as a lifelong bench coach.
He was in no position to make demands about control, and if management let him make them that was stupid.

Where’s Pedro and his right hook when we need him?

No. It was an own goal and PK away from a tie at home.

If it wasn’t an OG, the cross is maybe completed for a goal anyway. That PK was BS, it was justice served that SJ saved it.

Don’t play the “maybe completed fo a goal” game....

And the PK was just. Player got cleaned out in the box and taken out of the play.

Here’s the ball coming off Mata’s foot. Medina is in perfect position to receive it with no defenders in position to stop him. 7D32D5D2-18F3-47EF-9673-C0F3DE04C418.png

Here’s the ball coming off of Trusty’s foot for the OG. If he didn’t get his foot on it, it land right at Medina’s feet with the keeper out of position.

So yeah, I’ll play that game. It was a desperate attempt to break up a high percentage goal scoring opportunity. So Trusty got his leg on it any way he could. And it resulted in a deflection into his goal.

The PK was perfectly legit. SJ caught all of the opposing player and none of the ball inside the penalty area. It is one of those damn-if-you-do and damn if you don't situations because if he didn't go to ground aggressively and Ring failed to win the ball he would have been criticized, but going to ground like that he was risking a penalty big time.

I think CFG has failed in their global branding through team purchases.

Funny you say that. I went to get Shake Shack after the match tonight. I'm holding the door leaving with the bag of burgers in my hand and my NYCFC scarf. The guy thanks me and says, "Shoutout to Man City."

First off it was Sweat, not Mata. Second, I just watched the replay and if Trusty missed the ball, the LB was racing back faster than Medina was crashing the back post, and the LB would have cleared it. We all like to play what if, but Medina hadn’t even gotten close to taking a shot so to say he would have scored is beyond reaching.

It was weird -- had Ring not made a great defensive play on the ball, Johnson gets at least some ball and there's no penalty.
